MARCH 11, 2023 PRAYER UPDATE

Israel and the Nations

 

Israel is going through a “double whammy.”  There are the controversial judicial reforms making their way through the Knesset, which has caused major divisions in Israeli society. Every week there are so many protests that it is nearly impossible, on certain days, to get into and out of major cities. Roads are blocked, people are angry, and the police are out in force. Mark 3:25 says that a house divided cannot stand. It is because of this turmoil that Israeli society looks weak. This has become an open door for the enemy, and we are seeing a great increase in terrorism. In this schism, in this divide, God is also revealing the sins of His people. The whole world is seeing what the Lord is allowing to happen here.

What is your place in this?  It’s time to favor Zion; the set time has come! Israel is going through this constant upheaval, but you can pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6-8). Peace be upon Israel! 

 

PRAYER POINTS:

GOD IS CAUSING A HUMBLING THROUGH SUFFERING:

 

Isaiah 2:11:

Human pride will be brought down, and human arrogance will be humbled. Only the LORD will be exalted on that day of judgment.

 

2 Samuel 12:28:

You save an afflicted people, but Your eyes are on the haughty to bring them down.

 

Psalm 18:27:

You rescue the humble, but you humiliate the proud.

  

We appeal to God’s mercy -- to comfort His people; to save His people:

 

COMFORT:

 

Isaiah 40:2:

Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, That her warfare is ended, That her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from the LORD’s hand Double for all her sins. 

 

Isaiah 12:1:

A day is coming when people will sing, "I praise you, LORD! You were angry with me, but now you comfort me and are angry no longer.

 

Isaiah 49:13:

Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the LORD comforts His people and will have compassion on His afflicted ones.

SALVATION:

 

Isaiah 26:1:

In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; salvation is established as its walls and ramparts.

 

Psalm 80:3:

Turn us again to Yourself, O God. Make Your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved.

 

Psalm 80:7:

Restore us, O God of Hosts, and cause Your face to shine upon us, that we may be saved.

 

Psalm 80:19:

Turn us again to yourself, O LORD God of Heaven’s Armies. Make Your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved.

 

Psalm 31:16:

Let Your face shine on your servant; save me in Your unfailing love.

 

RIGHTEOUSNESS:

The Lord is doing a work of righteousness in His beloved land. There is turmoil, but eventually, it will lead to a better day:

 

Isaiah 32:17:

Then, an act of righteousness will bring about peace, calm, and safety forever. Because everyone will do what is right, there will be peace and security forever.

 

THE HOPE:

Isaiah 44:23:

Sing for joy, O heavens, for the LORD has done this; shout aloud, O depths of the earth. Break forth in song, O mountains, you forests and all your trees. For the LORD has redeemed Jacob, and revealed His glory in Israel.

2 Corinthians 3:7—2 Corinthians 4:1:

The Law was carved in letters on stone tablets, and God's glory appeared when it was given. Even though the brightness on Moses' face was fading, it was so strong that the people of Israel could not keep their eyes fixed on him.

If the Law, which brings death when it is in force, came with such glory, won't the ministry that brings the Spirit have even more glory?

For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.

We may say that because of the far brighter glory now, the glory that was so bright in the past is gone. For if there was glory in that which lasted for a while, how much more glory is there in that which lasts forever! 

Since this new way gives us such confidence, we can be very bold.

We are not like Moses, who had to put a veil over his face so that the people of Israel would not see the brightness fade and disappear. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Messiah is it taken away.

Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

Now, the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

All of us, then, reflect the glory of the Lord with uncovered faces; and that same glory, coming from the Lord, who is the Spirit, transforms us into His likeness in an ever greater degree of glory. 

We don't become discouraged, since God has given us this ministry through His mercy.

Israel and the Nations

 

THE STRENGTH AND GLORY OF ISRAEL!

Revelation 5:13: And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying: "To Him who sits on the throne and unto the Lamb, be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever!"

 

1 Chronicles 29:11: Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the splendor and the majesty, for everything in heaven and on earth belongs to You. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom, and You are exalted as head over all.

 

Exodus 15:11: Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?

AN UNSHAKABLE KING WITH PROMISES. THOUGH THE EARTH MAY SHAKE AND CHANGE, HE DOES NOT!

 

James 1:17:  Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, with whom there is no change or shifting shadow.

 

Psalm 102:25-28: In the beginning You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing You will change them, and they will be passed on. But, You remain the same, and Your years will never end. The children of Your servants will dwell securely, and their descendants will be established before You.

EVEN IN THE MIDST OF MASS SHAKINGS, OUR RESPONSIBILITY IS TO BE STILL AND KNOW THAT HE IS GOD!  THERE IS PEACE TO BE FOUND IN THE MIDST OF CHAOS, CONFUSION, DESTRUCTION, AND DEVASTATION:

 

Isaiah 54:10: Though the mountains may be removed and the hills may be shaken, My loving devotion will not depart from you, and My covenant of peace will not be broken," says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

 

Psalm Chapter 46 says it all! 

 

Hebrews 12:26: When God spoke from Mount Sinai His voice shook the earth, but now He makes another promise: “Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.”

 

WHILE GOD IS UNSHAKABLE, HIS SHAKINGS ARE UPON US. IN GOVERNMENT, ON THE STREETS, IN EVERY AREA OF OUR LIVES! YET, THERE IS HIS REDEMPTION:

 

Isaiah 33:12: For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is He who will save us.

 

Haggai 2:6-7: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea, and the dry land.  I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty.

 

1 Peter 1:4: [You are born anew] into an inheritance which is imperishable [beyond the reach of change] and undefiled and unfading, reserved in heaven for you.

 

HE WILL DEAL WITH US IN OUR LAND. THAT IS HIS PROMISE TO US!

Ezekiel 37:21: Then say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Surely, I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land.

LORD, YOUR WORD SPEAKS OF UNITY IN THE LAND OF ISRAEL. YET, TODAY, WE HAVE MUCH DISUNITY. WE ARE A BROKEN NATION, BECAUSE A HOUSE DIVIDED CANNOT STAND.  WE ARE SEEING A BATTLE BETWEEN THE FORMER KINGDOM OF ISRAEL AND THE FORMER KINGDOM OF JUDAH. IT IS NOW OCCURING IN MODERN TIMES. SO, WE DECLARE YOUR WORDS:

Jeremiah 50:4-5: “In those days, at that time,” declares the LORD, “the people of Israel and the people of Judah together will go in tears to seek the LORD their God. They will ask the way to Zion and turn their faces toward it. They will come and join themselves to the LORD in an everlasting covenant that will never be forgotten.

Ezekiel 37:22: I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one king will rule over all of them. They will no longer be two nations and will no longer be divided into two kingdoms.

 

IN THE MIDST OF THIS SCHISM IN OUR LAND, WE CRY OUT TO YOU, O GOD!

Psalm 79:8-9: Do not hold against us the sins of past generations; may Your mercy come quickly to meet us, for we are in desperate need. Help us, God our Savior, for the glory of Your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for Your name’s sake.

 

Isaiah 64:9: Do not be angry beyond measure, LORD; do not remember our sins forever. Oh, look on us, we pray, for we are all your people.

 

Micah 7:18: Do not be angry beyond measure, LORD; do not remember our sins forever. Oh, look on us, we pray, for we are all Your people; Who is a God like You, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy; You delight in showing unfailing love.

 

Hebrews 8:12: For I will forgive their iniquities and will remember their sins no more.

 

Psalm 89:17: You give us great victories; in Your love You make us triumphant.

 

PURIM AND THE BOOK OF ESTHER:

We are in the book of Esther and the holiday of Purim. Esther becomes queen in God’s perfect timing. It was considered, “for such a time as this.”

 

We ask You, Lord, to raise up an Esther Generation in Israel and throughout the world!  May there be women of God who take up the mantle to go to our King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and entreat Him; pray; and seek His face for the protection and salvation of the Jewish People throughout the world, and here in Israel. Save Your People from the clutches of evil and tyranny.

 

Reading from the book of Esther 4:9-17:

 

Hathach went back and told Esther everything Mordecai had said. Then Esther told Hathach to say this to Mordecai:  “Mordecai, all the king’s leaders and all the people of the king’s provinces know this: The king has one law for any man or woman who goes to the king without being called. That person must be put to death unless the king holds out his gold scepter to them. If the king does this, that person’s life will be saved. And I have not been called to go see the king for 30 days.”

   

Then Esther’s message was given to Mordecai. When he got her message, Mordecai sent his answer back: “Esther, don’t think that just because you live in the king’s palace you will be the only Jew to escape. If you keep quiet now, help and freedom for the Jews will come from another place. But you and your father’s family will all die. And who knows, maybe you have been chosen to be the queen for such a time as this.”

Then Esther sent this answer to Mordecai: “Mordecai, go and get all the Jews in Susa together, and fast for me. Don’t eat or drink for three days and nights. I and my women servants will fast too. After we fast, I will go to the king. I know it is against the law to go to the king if he didn’t call me, but I will do it anyway. If I die, I die.” So Mordecai went away and did everything Esther told him to do.

 

LET GOD ARISE!  AND, HIS ENEMIES BE SCATTERED!  LET COURAGEOUS ESTHER’S ARISE – THOSE WHO ENTER INTO INTERCESSION BEFORE THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS – TO SEE CHANGE IN ISRAEL; TO SEE CHANGE IN THE NATIONS; TO SEE CHANGE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD!
