FEBRUARY 24, 2019 PRAYER UPDATE

Israel and the Nations

GOD’S KINGDOM AUTHORITY, SOVEREIGNTY, RULE AND REIGN:

Recently, there were riots on the Temple Mount, and the Palestinians broke through a barrier near the Golden Gate. This is a cynical attempt by Jordan and the WAQF (the Jordanian Trust that oversees the Temple Mount) to challenge Israel’s sovereignty over the holy places. As we get nearer to the unveiling of the U.S. peace plan, this violence may increase, as Jordan, the Palestinians and others try to gain more control over God’s holy mountain.

We proclaim God’s Kingdom authority and His sovereignty over Israel and the nations. We speak of His Word, His promises, and His ruling power.

WE TAKE THE POSITION OF REVELATION 11:15: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah, and He will reign for ever and ever."

WE ACKNOWLEDGE HIS LORDSHIP, OUR GOD ALMIGHTY, ACCORDING TO DANIEL 7:14: “And, He was given dominion, glory, and kingship, so that every people, nation, and language should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”

ZECHARIAH 12:2-3: “Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup of staggering to all the surrounding peoples. The siege of Jerusalem will also be against Judah. It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.”

WE PROCLAIM TO ISRAEL, AND TO JERUSALEM, SPECIFICALLY, PSALM 146:10: “The LORD reigns forever; your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the LORD!”

AND, WE DECLARE LUKE 1:33: “…And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever. His kingdom will never end!"

(1)     THE CURRENT AND FUTURE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT: 

ACCORDING TO 1 TIMOTHY 2:1-2: “First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered on behalf of all men, for kings and all those in authority, so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

PRAYER:  

We offer You, now, dear Lord, our petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for the current Israeli government and the one to come! 

OUR PETITION, O GOD, ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE IS: That all Israeli leaders, who rule in this nation, will be saved and come to the knowledge of truth in our Messiah Yeshua!

WE PRAY, RIGHT NOW, AND THANK YOU FOR SOME OF OUR CURRENT ISRAELI GOVERNMENT LEADERS:  

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister; Israel Katz, Israeli Foreign Minister and Transportation Minister; Yuli Edelstein, Israeli Speaker of the Knesset; Gilad Erdan, Israeli Minister of Internal Security; Miri Regev, Israeli Sports and Culture Minister; and, Yuval Steinitz, Israeli Energy and Infrastructure Minister. 

DURING THIS TRANSITIONAL GOVERNMENT, WE PRAY THAT ISRAELIS WILL ABIDE BY HEBREWS 13:17: “Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.”  

And, by ROMANS 13:1: “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”

We pray that all Israelis WILL have confidence in their leaders, and acknowledge the governing authorities as being established by You, O God!

(2)     THIS TIME OF TRANSITION/ISRAELI ELECTIONS ON APRIL 9:

PRAYER:

Lord, we continue to intercede for the Israeli elections. Israel needs sustainability in political leadership at this time! IT IS A CRUCIAL TIME NOW…. SPEECHES, MISTAKES, MISTEPS, AND MEDIA REPORTING COULD CHANGE THE ELECTIONS. 

Israeli Attorney-General Avichai Mandelbit’s future announcement, reportedly, will be an indictment of Netanyahu. This could be the factor that determines which party is the largest one in the elections, and who will become Prime Minister.

But, it is also up to Israeli President Reuven Rivlin to invite which party and which leader he thinks will form the best government coalition. We pray, therefore, that Rivlin will make a just, wise, and righteous decision, not based on political gain, but based on the righteousness and justice of God!

WE DECLARE, ACCORDING TO PSALM 146:3: that we, “do not put our trust in princes, nor in human beings, who cannot save us. Only You God can save!

WE PUT OUR TRUST IN YOU, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.  WE TRUST YOU WITH THESE ELECTIONS; WITH THE FATE OF BENJAMIN NETANYAHU; WITH WHAT PARTY YOU DECIDE SHOULD RULE OVER ISRAEL AT THIS TIME. IT IS IN YOUR HANDS, LORD. YOU ARE A COVENANT GOD.

YOUR WORD SAYS IN PSALM 25:14: “THE LORD CONFIDES IN THOSE WHO FEAR HIM, AND REVEALS HIS COVENANT TO THEM.” 

CAN ANYONE HIDE HIMSELF IN SECRET PLACES THAT THE LORD SHALL NOT SEE? DO YOU, GOD ALMIGHTY, NOT FILL HEAVEN AND EARTH? YOU ARE THE GOD IN HEAVEN WHO REVEALS MYSTERIES. YOU FORM LIGHT AND CREATE DARKNESS. YOU BRING PROSPERITY AND CREATE CALAMITY. YOU DO ALL THESE THINGS.

WE ASK YOU LORD, THIS DAY, TO BRING CLARITY IN THESE ELECTIONS. REVEAL YOURSELF AND YOUR COVENANT TO THOSE WHO HONOR YOU THAT ARE RUNNING FOR THESE HIGH OFFICES. 

WE PRAY ACCORDING TO DANIEL 2:20-22:  “PRAISE BE TO THE NAME OF GOD, FOREVER AND EVER; WISDOM AND POWER ARE HIS; IT IS HE WHO CHANGES THE TIMES AND THE SEASONS:  HE REMOVES KINGS AND ESTABLISHES KINGS. HE GIVES WISDOM TO THE WISE AND GREATER KNOWLEDGE TO THOSE WHO HAVE UNDERSTANDING; THOSE WHO ARE DISCERNING; HE REVEALS DEEP AND HIDDEN THINGS; HE KNOWS WHAT LIES IN DARKNESS, AND LIGHT DWELLS WITH HIM.”

The main candidates running for office are:

(1)     LIKUD PARTY: Benjamin Netanyahu, for Prime Minister. He’s united “extreme right” parties in order to try and form a “right bloc”.  This is backfiring, as liberal Jews of major organizations in America are opposing this, as are Israelis who want a more democratic left-leaning society.

(2)     THE CENTRIST BLOC/The Blue and White Party: Benny Gantz and Yair Lapid, who have agreed in the rotation of the office of Prime Minister; Moshe Yaalon and Benny Gantz, who have agreed in the rotation of the office of Defense Minister. An additional general is joining that party, Gabi Ashkenazi. Their platform indicates that they are willing to withdraw from land to obtain peace.

WE PRAY, ACCORDING TO I KINGS 8:57: “May He (GOD ALMIGHTY), incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways and to keep the commandments and statutes and ordinances He commanded our fathers.”  May these candidates running for elected office, walk in His ways and keep the commandments and statutes and ordinances, as He commanded their fathers!

Lord, to give You reverence is to hate evil, according to PROVERBS 8:14. Your Word says that Wisdom hates arrogance, pride, evil conduct, and perverse speech. 

We intercede that these Israelis who are running for elected office, will walk in: WISDOM, COUNSEL, SOUND JUDGEMENT, INSIGHT AND STRENGTH, IN PREPARATION TO GOVERN THIS NATION, ISRAEL. IT IS ONLY BY YOU, LORD, THAT KINGS REIGN, AND RULERS ENACT JUST LAWS.

WE PRAY THAT THE NEW GOVERNMENT THAT IS FORMED; AND, THE NEW KNESSET THAT IS FORMED, AFTER THIS APRIL 9^TH ELECTION, WILL BE THOSE WHO RULE AND GOVERN JUSTLY, ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD IN PROVERBS 8:15.

HOWEVER, WE ALSO ACKNOWLEDGE, THAT, “ALL AUTHORITY ON HEAVEN AND EARTH HAS BEEN GIVEN TO YOU, LORD YESHUA, ACCORDING TO MATHEW 28:18.

PLEASE, DEAR GOD, GRANT WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE TO THE FUTURE LEADERS OF ISRAEL, SO THAT THEY MAY LEAD YOUR PEOPLE IN THIS LAND OF ISRAEL. AMEN!

A POINT TO MENTION:

·        The AMERICAN PEACE PLAN – Reportedly, it’s to be declared by the Trump Administration after the April 9^th election, but before a new government is formed. This could influence or jeopardize the formation of the new Israeli government. 

So, we pray, that God’s will be done regarding the issue of this U.S. peace plan; that the new government of Israel will consider the land that has been given to them by their forefathers, through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, that extends from the Euphrates River to the Great Sea. (ACCORDING TO JOSHUA 1:4; AND, DEUTERONOMY 11:24). 

And, we say:  MAY THE RIGHTEOUS RULE FROM SEA TO SEA, AND FROM THE EUPHRATES TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH. (PSALM 72:8).

PSALM 85:9: “Surely, His salvation is near to those who fear Him; that His Glory may dwell in our land.”

 

RISE IN ANTI-SEMITISM AND NEED FOR ALIYAH, ESPECIALLY FROM THE WEST:

The Jewish People that have been scattered into the Diaspora are seeing the signs -- rise in anti-Semitism; wake-up call for the West. Pray about increased persecution, and pray for the Jews to come home. (EZEKIEL 36:8).

There is discord in Germany, Britain, France, and Austria. The extreme left and extreme right are attacking Jews on the street, and vandalizing Jewish cemeteries. It’s in the Church too – Replacement Theology. Reportedly, the World Council of Churches is spying on Israel.

Statistics:  25,000 Jews made Aliyah last year; but less than 4,000 were from the West (U.S./Canada).

There’s been a foreboding since 9/11/2001. That disaster was the wake-up call; the warning; the shofar blasting; the “signal” point.

PRAY for this time to be one of preparation for Jews in the Diaspora, but without fear. Pray for peace for them, in the nations, especially that they would complete their immigration to Israel,  despite violence and terror in the land.

Scriptures:

·        ISAIAH 43:5-6 (Bring them back, Lord, from the 4 corners of the earth!) 

·        HOSEA 11:10 (The roaring lion; a trembling from the West. Pray for the Jews to come on their own, without waiting until the persecution comes!) 

Pray about Israel’s bureaucracy and red tape that all immigrants suffer under. Pray that whatever caused 188 Jews to return to their country of origin, over a two year period, will stop happening in Yeshua’s name!

Pray for Isaac Hertzog to receive new vision as the head of the Jewish Agency, putting Aliyah first on his agenda. Pray for breakthroughs at the Ministry of Interior -- that they will allow more Jews in, without restrictions, especially, Reformed, Conservative and Messianic Jews. Pray for Messianic believers to be a mighty and strong voice for change both at the Jewish Agency and at the Ministry of Interior.

ISRAEL AS A LIGHT TO THE NATIONS, AND ISRAEL’S SALVATION:

(READ: ZECHARIAH 8:13; ROMANS 11:15; AMOS 9:15)

·        Statistics: 908 Nobel Prize Winners; 205 were Jews, which represents 22.6% of all Nobel Prize Winners. Only .2% of the world population are Jews. See God’s favor on His Chosen People to fulfill their destiny!

Pray that a greater number of Jews will come to salvation and become the real “light to the nations” that they are supposed to be!

Thank the Lord that Israel was the first nation that sent rescue teams to Brazil when the dam broke. It was hard work, but another demonstration of Israel fulfilling the role as “a light to the nations.”

Pray for Israel’s current Foreign Minister Israel Katz – that he would develop ambassadorial skills; and, that his words would bless the nations that are being drawn to Israel’s brain power.

Pray for Israel’s high tech; it’s IT capabilities; and its deepening ties with Arab nations in the fields of business and security.

Pray that the current brain drain in this “Start-Up Nation”, because of Israelis leaving the country to live abroad, would cease in Jesus name! Pray that Israeli entrepreneurs would not be so quick to sell their companies and move to other nations to manage their businesses. Pray that God would keep them here, and give wisdom to the Israeli government to provide incentives for them to stay. Intercede, specifically, for young Israeli techies to persevere in the land, and not be disillusioned about their future here.

PROCLAIM THAT ISRAEL IS THE LAND OF MILK AND HONEY: 

EZEKIEL 20:6: “On that day I swore to them to bring them out of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, a land flowing with milk and honey, the glory of all lands.”

LEVITICUS 20:24: “But I said to you, "You will possess their land; I will give it to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey." I am the LORD your God, who has set you apart from the nations.”

EXODUS 33:1: “Then the LORD said to Moses, "Leave this place, you and the people you brought up out of the land of Egypt, and go to the land I promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when I said, 'I will give it to your descendants.’ ”

EXODUS 33:16: “For how then can it be known that Your people and I have found favor in Your sight, unless You go with us? How else will we be distinguished from all the other people on the face of the earth?"
