Israel and the Nations

ISAIAH 33:5: “The LORD is exalted, for He dwells on high; He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness.”

*WILL WAR BREAK OUT BEFORE THE ELECTIONS?

BACKGROUND:  There’s been escalation in tensions between Israel and the Palestinians… both in the West Bank and in Gaza, which could explode into a full-fledged war. Israel has been warning of a possible war that could disrupt or delay Israeli national political elections on April 9th.  It seems more likely, now, that something is brewing among the Palestinians, especially in the south.

On March 30^th, there are plans for a large scale protest planned during the one year anniversary of the “Great March of Return” on the Gaza border. Leading up to that, there have been clashes in the south, as Hamas has increasingly sent explosions in balloons over the border. There have also been a few rockets launched at Israel’s southern border communities. And, an increase in the massive demonstrations at the fence, where Palestinians either try to break-through, or try to kill IDF soldiers. Israel is retaliating strongly to every rebellious act by Hamas and other terrorist groups. 

The Egyptians are trying to get both Hamas and Israel to come to terms that will allow the border to return to quiet. But, the conflict continues to escalate.

The Israeli assessment is that Hamas is provoking confrontations with Israel because of increased internal dissatisfaction. Gazans are increasingly frustrated with the way Hamas rules the Gazan government. According to reports, Hamas is afraid that Gazans will rise-up against its rule, and that its leaders will fall from power. So, Hamas instigates violent attacks against Israel to distract the public. 

IDF statistics show that at least 500,000 Gazans have attended border protests against Israel in recent years. When the protests turn violent, Israel temporarily shuts down one of the crossings that helps get humanitarian aid into Gaza. Closure of the Kerem Shalom crossing usually means that Israel is planning to respond, militarily, to Hamas terror attacks. 

Israel’s new IDF Chief of Staff, Lt.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi, sees the southern front in Israel as the most explosive, potentially. He has approved IDF operational plans for war with Hamas. This includes centralizing administrative efforts, and preparing a list of targets in case a conflagration with Hamas breaks-out. 

Israeli troop deployment has begun on the southern border for those who have special skills, including counter-terrorism forces, who are watching for any infiltration of terrorist groups along the border. The IDF has also beefed up its border defenses, including trenches and barbed wire, to stop any possible breach of the border by terrorists trying to reach Israel’s southern communities. 

Another area of concern is that Palestinian prisoners could start a violent uprising in jails throughout Israel. Israeli Public Security Minister, Gilad Erdan, has installed technical equipment that garbles conversations made by convicted prisoners who have, illegally, smuggled cell phones into their prison cells. This has already caused violent incidents between Israeli prison wardens and inmates.

There has also been an increase in clashes between Israeli officials and Palestinians on the Temple Mount, where the WAQF (Jordanian Trust) wants greater control of an area near the Golden Gate. The Palestinians have broken through a security barrier, and are demanding to build a mosque in that area. 

Meanwhile, a group of Jewish activists are protesting, including Israeli Members of Knesset. They say since the status-quo is changing on the Temple Mount (because of the attempt to construct a mosque), they want to build a synagogue there. On March 14^th, an association of organizations dedicated to Jewish rights on the Temple Mount is planning on ascending the Temple Mount, which is likely to stir-up a conflict in the area.  

In late March the same group is planning a protest rally from City Hall to outside the Golden Gate.

PRAYER POINTS:

The stage is set for a violent explosion between Israel and the Palestinians, and there must be increased prayer that there are no miscalculations which could start a war. The “hot” points are Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, the West Bank, Israeli prisons, and the Gaza border.

IF THIS IS NOT GOD’S TIMING FOR SUCH BATTLES TO TAKE PLACE, WE ASK YOU LORD TO DELAY THIS WAR, AND NOT ALLOW ANY ESCALATION TO IGNITE IT. DESTROY THE ENEMY’S PLANS AND KEEP THE WICKED FROM PURSING EVIL AGAINST ISRAEL. KEEP ISRAEL AT PEACE AS THE COUNTRY GOES TO ELECTIONS. LET NOTHING STOP THE VOTING PROCESS. ACCORDING TO YOUR WILL, AND IN YESHUA’S NAME, WE PRAY. 

KINGS GO TO WAR IN THE SPRING, 2 SAMUEL 11:1.  MARCH 21^ST IS THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING. IF IT IS GOD’S TIMING FOR A BATTLE TO TAKE PLACE, PRAY THAT ISRAEL WOULD BE PREPARED FOR A CONFLICT ON MULTIPLE FRONTS WITH THE PALESTINIANS.

DECLARE PSALM 18:34-40 AND GOD’S PROTECTION FOR IDF SOLDIERS:  “He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You have given me Your shield of victory. Your right hand supports me. Your help has made me great. You clear the way for me, and now I won't stumble. You have kept me from being captured, and I have never fallen. I pursued my enemies and overtook them; I did not turn back till they were destroyed. I chased my enemies and caught them; I did not stop until they were conquered. I struck them down and crushed them so they could not get up; they fell beneath my feet. You have armed me with strength for battle. You have humbled my adversaries before me. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. You make my enemies run from me. I destroy those who hate me.”

PSALM 144:1-2: “Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.”

AS ISRAELI OFFICIALS CONFRONT JORDANIAN AND PALESTINIAN LEADERS IN AN ATTEMPT TO STOP THE BUILDING OF ANOTHER MOSQUE, THIS TIME NEAR THE GOLDEN GATE, PROCLAIM ISRAEL’S RIGHT TO SELF-DEFENSE. PRAY FOR ISRAELI LEADERS TO ACT COURAGEOUSLY TO DEFEND GOD’S HOLY PLACE – THE TEMPLE MOUNT – FROM INCREASED ATTEMPTS BY MOSLEMS TO DEFILE THE AREA. ASK THE LORD FOR WISDOM AND HIS PERFECT TIMING FOR NEW RIGHTEOUS LAWS THAT WOULD ALLOW JEWS AND CHRISTIANS TO WORSHIP THE LORD IN THIS HOLY PLACE. 

INTERCEDE FOR THE LORD TO CALM PALESTINIAN AND ARAB STREETS IN ISRAEL AND THE MIDDLE EAST UNTIL QUIET IS RESTORED ON THE TEMPLE MOUNT.

ISAIAH 28:6: “He will give a sense of justice to those who serve as judges, and courage to those who defend the city gates from attack.”

 

PRAY FOR STRENGTH FOR THOSE WHO TURN BACK THE BATTLE AT THE GATE. 

JOSHUA 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

PRAY THAT THE LORD WILL GIVE CURRENT ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU GOOD ADVISORS WHO WILL HELP HIM TO ASSESS THE SITUATION ACCURATELY ON THE TEMPLE MOUNT:

1 KINGS 3:28: “When all Israel heard of the judgment the king had given, they stood in awe of him, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to administer justice.”

PRAY FOR ISRAELI LEADERS AND IDF TROOPS TO READ THE BIBLE AND ADHERE TO THE SET “LAWS OF WARFARE” THAT THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY HAS INSTRUCTED THEM TO FOLLOW:

DEUTERONOMY 20:1-4: “When you go out to war against your enemies and see horses, chariots, and an army larger than yours, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, is with you. When you are about to go into battle, the priest is to come forward and address the army, saying to them, ‘Hear, O Israel, today you are going into battle with your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid. Do not be alarmed or terrified because of them. For the LORD your God is He who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.’ ”

PRAY THAT ISRAELI OFFICERS WILL APPOINT SKILLED AND TRAINED COMMANDERS, THOSE WHO ARE FULL OF COURAGE, TO LEAD ISRAEL’S DEFENSE FORCES (THE IDF), AND ISRAEL’S AIR FORCE (THE IAF). PRAY THAT ALL ISRAEL WILL REPENT OF SIN. INTERCEDE FOR ISRAEL’S RETURN TO THE LORD AND TO HIS WORD -- THAT HIS PEOPLE WILL DO WHAT IS RIGHT IN HIS SIGHT, SO HE CAN GIVE ISRAEL THE NECESSARY TOOLS FOR BATTLE.

INTERCEDE FOR GOD TO PROVIDE HIS GUIDANCE AND PROTECTION OVER ISRAEL, ESPECIALLY OVER THE SOUTHERN BORDER WITH GAZA, RIGHT NOW!

PSALM 33:20: “Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.”

PSALM 66:9:  “He preserves our lives and keeps our feet from slipping.”

PSALM 71:21: “You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.”

PSALM 89:21-26: “My hand will sustain him; surely My arm will strengthen him. His enemies will not defeat him, nor will the wicked overpower him. I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries. My faithfulness and unfailing love will be with him, and by My authority he will grow in power. I will extend his rule over the sea, his dominion over the rivers. He will call to Me, ‘You are my Father, my God, the rock of my salvation.’ 

*GROWING ANTI-SEMITISM IN THE U.S.

BACKGROUND:  For the first time in a decade, U.S. polls show a decline in American support for Israel. Not only is there a steady increase in the rise of anti-Semitism in the U.S., there has also been a display of Jew-hatred among new freshman representatives in Congress. Recently, outspoken Muslim congresswoman Ilhan Omar (a Democrat from Minnesota), targeted American Jews with hate speech, using historic anti-Semitic characterizations involving Jewish money and dual-loyalty. 

Omar is a member of the U.S. Foreign Affairs Committee, which historically allows only experienced veteran members of Congress to be part of the committee. Recently, the Committee tried to enact a resolution that would strongly condemn anti-Semitism. Outside radical elements influenced members of the Committee, including Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, to water-down the text, and to also include racism, Islamic phobia, bigotry, etc., as part of the resolution. Omar’s name was not mentioned as the offending individual that instigated the anti-Semitic remarks. 

This incident has weakened Congress in its ability to fight and condemn hatred towards Israel and the Jewish People. And, it has strengthened the Muslim position. 

Israel has lost support among liberal and moderate Democrats. Currently, 43% of Democrats say they sympathize more with Israel than the Palestinians. U.S. President Donald Trump has protested what he claims is anti-Israel and anti-Jewish hatred in the Democratic Party. 

In addition to this, a Palestinian organization that has made anti-Semitic remarks, and has ties to Palestinian terrorists, is planning a protest on March 24, during the AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington, D.C.

PRAYER POINTS:

PRAY FOR THE JEWISH COMMUNITY IN AMERICA…. THAT THEY WILL NOT FEAR, BUT TAKE A STRONG AND DELIBERATE STAND AGAINST ANTI-SEMITISM. PRAY FOR THE CHURCH IN AMERICA… THAT BELIEVERS WILL EXTEND THEIR LOVE, COMFORT AND COMPASSION TOWARDS THEIR JEWISH NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS WHO ARE BEING PERSECUTED.

LORD, WE BESEECH YOU, ACCORDING TO PSALM 36:10-12, TO POUR OUT A DOUBLE PORTION OF YOUR GOODNESS UPON YOUR CHOSEN PEOPLE: “Send forth your gracious love to those who know You, and Your righteousness to those who are upright in heart. Don't let the proud trample me or the wicked push me around. Look at the troublemakers who have fallen. They have been pushed down and are unable to stand up again.” 

PSALM 37:20: “But the wicked and enemies of the LORD will perish like the glory of the fields. They will vanish; like smoke they will fade away.”

PSALM 44:5: “Through You we repel our foes; through Your name we trample our enemies.”

2 SAMUEL 7:10-11: “And, I will provide a place for My people Israel and will plant them so that they may dwell in a place of their own and be disturbed no more. No longer will the sons of wickedness oppress them as they did at the beginning and have done since the day I appointed judges over My people Israel. I will give you rest from all your enemies. The LORD declares to you that He, Himself, will establish a house for you."

PSALM 9:2-4: “I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. When my enemies retreat, they stumble and perish before You. For You have upheld my just cause; You sit on Your throne judging righteously.”

ISAIAH 45:4-6: “For the sake of Jacob My servant and Israel My chosen one, I call you by name; I have given you a title of honor, though you have not known Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other; there is no God but Me. I will equip you for battle, though you have not known Me, so that all may know, from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting, that there is none but Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other.”

Israel and the Nations

BACKGROUND: OVERVIEW OF THE BATTLES AT HAND:

During this stormy season we have entered now, the sense is that we are coming into a time of political, diplomatic, and military contentions for position and land grabs. It’s all about power and dominance…

Whether it is the spiritual presence and aggressive forces on the Temple Mount, with Jordan and the Palestinians wanting to rule over the holy site.

Or, the upcoming Israeli elections… with both the Likud Party, and the Blue and White Party wanting to rule the country.

Interfering with this is the fact that nations want to divide this land:

(1)     Diplomatically -- the upcoming U.S. peace plan, with the determination and influence of American President Trump, who wants to make the “deal of the century”.  Most Israeli politicians will be pressured to yield to him, and tempted to give up land for peace, including concessions on Jerusalem, as Trump represents the world’s biggest superpower.

(2)     Militarily – Iran and its proxies in the north; Hamas in the south, hoping to infiltrate Israel’s borders and destroy the state.

(3)      Politically -- Russian President Vladimir Putin, that deceptively acts, for the moment, as a friend to Israel, but is really interested in being the main powerbroker in the Middle East.

So, it’s power, dominance, influence, and rule.

PRAYER POINTS:

WE DECLARE THAT IT IS THE LORD’S POWER, DOMINANCE, INFLUENCE, AND RULE THAT IS ABOVE WHATEVER MANKIND ATTEMPTS TO CONTROL!

MATTHEW 28:17-18: “When they saw Him (Jesus), they (His disciples) worshiped Him, but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.”

We PROCLAIM ACCORDING TO EPHESIANS 1:18-22, “…that Israel will know the hope of God’s calling; the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might, which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And, He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the Church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”

WE KNOW, O LORD, THAT A MAN’S WAY IS NOT HIS OWN; NO ONE WHO WALKS, DIRECTS HIS OWN STEPS. A MAN’S HEART PLANS HIS COURSE, BUT YOU, LORD, DETERMINE HIS STEPS. (JEREMIAH 10:23; PROVERBS 16:9)

PROVERBS 16:2: “All a man’s ways are pure in his own eyes, but his motives are weighed by the Lord.”

WE DECLARE, ACCORDING TO ISAIAH 26:7: “The path of the righteous is level; You, O Lord, clear a straight path for the righteous.”

PROVERBS 19:21: “Many plans are in a man's heart, but the purpose of the LORD will prevail.”

SO WE, PRAY THAT ISRAELI POLITICIANS, DIPLOMATS, AND MILITARY LEADERS WILL ACKNOWLEDGE YOU, AND YOU WILL MAKE THEIR PATHS STRAIGHT!

JOB 12:10: “The life of every living thing is in His hand, as well as the breath of all mankind.”

WE THEREFORE, ACKNOWLEDGE, “For the Day of the Lord of Hosts will come against all the proud and lofty, against all that is exalted -- it will be humbled.” (ISAIAH 2:12).

AND, WE PROCLAIM YOUR WORD FOR THE NATIONS, AS WELL, THAT SAYS (ISAIAH 13:11):  “I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity. I will end the haughtiness of the arrogant and humiliate the pride of tyrants.”

WE ASK YOU, LORD, TO CARRY OUT YOUR WORD TOWARDS THOSE WHO LIFT A HAND AGAINST YOU, OR AGAINST YOUR BELOVED LAND.

AND, WE DECLARE, ACCORDING TO JOB 10:10:  “The life of every living thing is in His hand, as well as the breath of all mankind.”

PROVERBS 25:5: “Take away the wicked from before the king, and the throne will be established in righteousness.

PSALM 89:14: Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; lovingkindness and truth go before You.”

BACKGROUND: SPECIFIC PRAYER FOR THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT AND THE UPCOMING ELECTIONS:

We do not know what the Lord will allow... Will He allow a transfer of power from a right-wing government to a center-left government?

Some reports indicate that whether Likud or Blue and White win, either one will need the other; that a national unity government may form (because of the possibility of a future war). Either way, if these parties come together, they are likely to adopt the Trump peace plan, which calls for a compromise of “land for peace”. 

The only way that might not happen is if we end up with a “right-wing” government. That means the ultra-Orthodox, and maybe the “far right” would be joining a Likud-led government.

PRAYER POINTS:

We pray that God’s will be done; that He puts Israelis in political positions that will uphold righteousness and justice in the land. That whichever party wins, the coalition that is formed will uphold the land covenants between Israel and the Lord.

We also pray that those in leadership will not allow government funded abortions; and, that they will not allow a furthering of the gay agenda.

(Recently, the Jewish Agency for Israel became the first semi-state organization to provide financial assistance to gay employees who seek child surrogacy services overseas. This is against scripture. We pray that the Lord will overturn this decision, under the new leadership of the Jewish Agency’s Chairman of the Executive, Isaac Herzog).

Former Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman recently indicated his party, Israel Beitenu (if it makes it over the electoral threshold) would not join the party of IDF General Benny Gantz because Lieberman saw, during a past IDF operation, that Gantz had no executive abilities to hold the office of Prime Minister.

So, again, we pray that whoever becomes Prime Minister will be able to handle all that the position requires... a good management style; the ability to delegate out authority to those that can be trusted; and, a strong Foreign Minister who can clarify Israel’s policies to the international diplomatic community. 

We intercede for Israel’s current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to 1 Timothy 2:1:

We pray that he will be able to be at peace in his emotions and in his mind; that he will have wisdom in current decision making; and, that he will not walk in fear or paranoia, or be distracted from his duties as Prime Minister. We ask You Lord to bring a calming influence into his life during this intense season, while the indictment looms over his head. 

We ask You Lord to strengthen his backbone. Keep him from attacking his opponents. Put words in his mouth that given him an ability to state what he has accomplished thus far in government; and, what his plans are for the future. Open up his eyes to see that presenting his platform; that of his party; is a show of strength and security to the Israeli people. Attacking his opponents is a distraction and shows signs of weakness. Help Bibi, Lord, to walk in integrity, knowledge, and understanding with the kind of statesmanship that shows him to be a man of God in all his ways.

We pray that the party that wins the election will not give away the land promised to Israel through the covenants. And, that each party will make known their true intentions to the Israeli people. 

We also pray that the current and future government leaders of Israel will be chosen by You, O Lord, with justice going forth, and with truth being established. Expose the plots of the enemy that tries to divide and tear us apart as a People. Bring unity where there has been divisions and strife, especially during these elections. Unify this nation under One God, The God of Israel!  Your Kingdom come, Lord; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!

Please God, if there has been corruption and bribery on the part of our current Prime Minister, then deal with Netanyahu, and remove this “blemish” of iniquity from the heart of this nation. But, if Netanyahu is innocent, then Lord Almighty, establish him, once again, with the authority and anointing that only You can give to the one whom You choose to rule and reign over Israel.  And, remove, instead, from this society, all those who spread lies and false accusations. Let their voices be null and void.

Take confusion out of the midst of these ruling powers over Israel. Establish a clear and well-defined political, diplomatic and military policy in this nation, with Your purposes for Israel above all others, in Yeshua’s name!

WE ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR WORD AND YOUR SON, YESHUA, THE MESSIAH, AS WE DECLARE ISAIAH 11:1-5: 

“A shoot will spring up from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit. The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and strength, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. And He will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what His eyes see, and He will not decide by what His ears hear, but with righteousness He will judge the poor, and with equity He will decide in favor of the earths oppressed. He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth and slay the wicked with the breath of His lips. Righteousness will be the belt around His hips, and faithfulness the sash around His waist.”

 

BACKGROUND: U.S. PROVISION FOR ISRAEL IN AIR DEFENSES:

We recently got a report from the headquarters of the U.S. European Command. It said that at the direction of the U.S. Secretary of Defense, the American European Command deployed a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system to Israel in early March. It demonstrated the U.S. commitment to Israel’s regional security, under the U.S. Department of Defense’s Dynamic Force Employment concept.

According to the report, sent out by the U.S. Embassy in Israel, “The THAAD is the most advanced integrated air and missile defense system in the world, and this “deployment readiness exercise” demonstrates that U.S. forces are agile, and can respond quickly and unpredictably to any threat, anywhere, at any time.

This is referring to military exercises that Israel and the U.S. engaged in, recently.

The report further stated: “This deployment incorporates key capabilities, systems and people stationed in the continental United States and Europe, and with our partners in the Israel Defense Force.”

During the deployment of these forces, U.S. service members will work in various locations throughout Israel, practicing more operational procedures. These include adding to Israel’s already existing air and missile defense systems. American military service members will, among other responsibilities, conduct multinational training and security cooperation activities with Israel and other allies in this region… in order to improve interoperability, and to build readiness.

The report indicates that the American strategic airlift capability, combined with close cooperation between allies, provides the U.S. military with the ability to rapidly deploy forces anywhere in the world. This suggests that it is a time of the U.S. preparing to do so in this region!

The THAAD is, reportedly, deployed from the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command (AAMDC) stationed at Ft. Bliss, Texas.

U.S. actions make military activities unpredictable to adversaries, while maintaining strategic predictability for Israel and other allies in this region!

Further BACKGROUND:  ON THE HISTORY OF THE U.S. PROVIDING AIR DEFENSES TO ISRAEL:

Reports indicate that before U.S. President George W. Bush left office, he gave a gift to Israel…. a radar system that could boost Israeli defenses against enemy ballistic missiles….such as those of Iran. At the time, the U.S. was concerned over perceived threats to Israel from Iran.

The system was called the “forward-based X-band radar”. Built by Raytheon Company.

It has some of the same similarities as the THAAD radar system now being deployed in Israel.

So, contrary to current media reports, this is not the first time the U.S. has done this for its ally Israel, because of perceived threats from Iran. This may even be the “update” to the radar system given to Israel by Bush.

This could also indicate there is closer military cooperation between Israeli and U.S. “special forces” in the region. Current U.S. President Donald Trump now has said that the U.S. will leave 400 U.S. troops in NE Syria. How will those forces interact with America’s allies in the region?

PRAYER POINTS:

We pray that, as U.S. forces leave NE Syria this month, that You, Lord, will fill the vacuum with other international forces, in coordination with America’s allies in the Middle East region. We ask you to provide every military defense tool needed to combat whatever plans the enemy has to try and hit Israel with missiles. We ask you Lord to stand in the gap, with Your holy angels, and with these protective shields you are setting up in the natural. May these radar systems, both past and present, help the IDF to defend itself from incoming rockets. May You send your angels to potential battlefields to put into place what is needed to confound all the plans of the wicked. WE PROCLAIM TO ISRAEL, IN REMEMBERING WHAT HAPPENED IN DEUTERONOMY 20:1:  “When you go out to war against your enemies and see horses, chariots, and an army larger than yours, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, is with you!”
