GPW News Prayer Update

TUNNELS UNDERGROUND IN GAZA:

Despite the recent high death toll of Israeli soldiers fighting in Gaza (24 killed in one day), the war goes on…

The IDF has learned, during these 3 months of war, to be effective in fighting and operating in the tunnels. Before 3 months ago, Israel did not want to risk going into the tunnels. According to one military general, in a recent briefing, the IDF now knows how to conduct operations underground; to overcome booby traps; to know where the explosive devices are, as well as what they call, “heavy blast doors."  Israeli forces are able to kill terrorists, along with moving safely inside tunnels.  

Expect that when the Gaza war is over, the IDF will be called on by the international community to share their expertise about the tunnels -- how to operate in this new urban warfare environment. This is the benefit of experience, even in the midst of the heartache of death and destruction. 

Reports indicate there are no more border crossing tunnels in Gaza.

Tunnels that end before the border could still be present in Gaza.

Strategic tunnels where Hamas can hide a launcher -- there are still tens of kilometers of those in Gaza.

LOOKING AT ISRAEL’S NORTHERN BORDER:

The tunnels in Lebanon are cement and fortified underground. In Lebanon the terrain is vast. Maneuverability is quite a challenge with many hills and valleys. The IDF is not so familiar with the terrain, which is a big disadvantage. PRAY!

Signs from the military are that an expanded war in Lebanon is on the horizon.

A testimony from a female officer in the reserves, that watches and reports the daily movements of Hezbollah:

She recently went to the evacuated towns along the northern border. She wondered if Israel lost control of the areas that northern residents evacuated. She doesn’t know when the residents will be able to go back there to live. Her words: “It feels like we are being hunted.” An example is of a mother and child eating in their kitchen. A missile came through their window and killed them. Obviously, the enemy was monitoring homes and saw that they were northern residents that had not evacuated.

The assessment is that if the war in the north becomes a full-scale war, the Iron Dome will not give 100% protection to Israel’s home front.  The IDF is expecting 4,000 missiles a day, including guided missiles, to be launched from Lebanon by Hezbollah, that can hit targets anywhere in Israel. 

Hezbollah is fully embedded within the south Lebanese population. Sixty percent of Hezbollah operatives that have been killed were from south Lebanon. The U.S. is pushing for the enforcement of UN resolution 1701, which demands that Hezbollah pull back to the Litani River. But, according to this same IDF reserved officer, how can Hezbollah withdraw from the border? They live there! Munitions are hidden inside the homes and under the homes of the southern Lebanese population.

The question is: If we have a diplomatic arrangement, with an international force, who will be the enforcer? (The 10,000-15,000 UNIFIL forces have been ineffective). What kind of force will be capable of going home to home, taking the rockets out, and fighting Hezbollah in their own homes in south Lebanon?  

Also, one Israeli soldier who is in an elite combat engineering unit, said that the Litani River is no longer a safe marker because Hezbollah has large and more precisely guided rockets than they had after the 2006 Second Lebanon War. These rockets can still be launched, even north of the Litani River, which would still be devastating to the Israeli home front.

The sense is that there will be an expanded war in the north in which the IDF will confront the strategic capabilities of Hezbollah. Just how vulnerable northern homes will be depends on whether the IDF can damage Hezbollah to the point where the terrorist army will not be able to launch missiles or attack residents. Otherwise, Israelis are not going to back to their homes in the north. Furthermore, military assessments are that a full-scale war would include many casualties in both Israel and Lebanon.

A situation analysis by military experts is that Israel must get rid of the idea of “war deterrence.”  It is no longer about whether the enemy is counting the cost. (Hezbollah operatives prefer death over life, so they have a different perspective). The only way is to damage Hezbollah in its military capabilities. But, Hezbollah has been building-up and improving these capabilities for almost 18 years!

The 2006 Lebanon War was not considered a full victory for Israel – more of a truce. This may have weakened Israel’s resolve to be able to stop Hezbollah. Instead, until now, Israelis lived under the rocket threat to the home front.

CRAFTED PRAYER:  Lord of Hosts, we need Your heavenly hosts to fight this war on the northern front. We ask You to disperse Your ministering angels to defend Israel in its fight against Hezbollah. Only You can win this war against Israel’s enemies. Save Israel from all this destruction that seems to be coming like a whirlwind sweeping over the north!  Intervene in this impossible scenario. We call upon You to protect Israel from its enemies!

Psalm 82:4: “Rescue the weak and needy; save them from the hand of the wicked.”

Psalm 121:3: “He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber.”

THE BIG WORD: UNITY

Some Israelis are saying that while the country is still united, we have to win the war. We must build a safe place for future generations.

One military general talked about a golden age that will emerge after this war. Prosperity and a strong Israel, but he also brought up the peace processes. (And, we know where that is headed!) There are Israelis that are proverbial optimists, who trust their enemies, and do not learn from past mistakes.  

PRAYER:  Let wisdom and discernment flow throughout the land. Remember that we will bear the consequences of staying naïve and moving into wishful thinking without applying God’s wisdom in decision-making. From the highest level of man’s authority in the land, our leaders need to embrace wisdom.

Luke 21:15: “For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.”

There is division among the Israelis about a long ceasefire that would provide an opportunity to get the hostages back. Part of the nation is demanding it, and part of the nation believes we will not go back to fighting the war, after the ceasefire. Therefore, our goals of eliminating Hamas would not be fulfilled. That thinking results in a conclusion among Israelis that over 500 soldiers will have died, in the ground war, in vain.

Citizens are back to their protests, condemning the current government. The society is stressed-out, with exhaustion and mixed emotions. With so many Israelis dead from this war, healing is greatly needed.

The sense is that there must continue to be UNITY in goals; UNITY in purpose; and, an ability for the current government to finish the job in Gaza. It is a key to Israel being victorious in battle, and able to overcome the enemy. This kind of UNITY can repair the divisions that have plagued this society.

Quoting from David’s prayer in the Psalms, which the Jewish People know well in scripture and song:

Psalm 133:1: “A Song of Ascents. Of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”  

David had a vision of this type of coming together.

He says in verse 2: “For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe.”

David saw, in the Spirit realm, what unity is like. It’s that anointing oil of the priesthood, and the fullness of God’s Presence that overflows in authority and purpose.

Israel needs that fine costly oil. It’s an oil of consecration bringing in God’s authority.  It consecrates the whole person that has been appointed to lead the people!  It reminds us of that costly perfume that Mary poured on the feet of Jesus.

John 12:3: “Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.”

When the anointing is present, it can touch everyone. When we submit to His will, realizing Who is the Commander of the Armies of Heaven, and of Israel, He touches us with His Presence.

OPEN OUR EYES LORD!  OPEN THE EYES OF OUR PEOPLE TO SEE!

CRAFTED PRAYER:

We pray for that sacred anointing oil to be poured out on the IDF, with soldiers serving together on the battlefield, for righteousness and justice to be a witness to the whole world! We pray that even in the midst of suffering, the people of Israel will receive that heavenly anointing oil, and be touched by the Lord, as a unified community.

Psalm 141, spoken by David to the Lord is so beautiful in that it is worship in movement; and it is a heart poured out to God. This is our hope for Israel.

David says in verse 2: “May my prayer be set before You like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.”  

Luke 1:10: “And at the hour of the incense offering, the whole congregation was praying outside.”

1 Timothy 2:8: “Therefore, I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger and dissension.”  

Psalm 141:3: “Set a guard over my mouth, LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.”

PRAYER:

Yes, take control of what we say, O LORD, and guard our lips!

Psalm 71:8: “Let my mouth be filled with Your praise. And, with Your glory all the day.”

Psalm 23:5: “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”

*See the connection between the anointing oil of unity; of priesthood and authority; a cup that overflows as Israel comes together, corporately. And, God then prepares that table for the nation in the presence of their enemies. God’s favor, because of unity, wipes away the fear, as our Father in Heaven, hallowed be His name, becomes for us our trusted Shepherd who will meet us in the battle and help us to overcome!

ISRAEL IS CORRECTING MISTAKES, AS A STEP IN FAITH, AND FOR THE SURVIVAL OF THE NATION:

Israel is now having to confront a much stronger Hezbollah militia, who has been given control in areas of the Lebanese government, and is deeply imbedded in the Lebanese army. Israel must push back this fordable enemy, or lose its northern border!

Without realizing it, Israel is backtracking to make right – that which was done wrong in the past.

One of those mistakes was withdrawing Israeli Jews from Gaza in 2005, carried out by former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. When his military generals advised that Israel should at least have a security presence along the porous border between Egypt and Gaza to prevent smuggling, Sharon said no. He foolishly made the mistake of wanting to totally withdraw from Gaza so the world would see and understand that Israel is not into land grabbing.

However, Israel now wants overall security control of that border, called the Philadelphi Corridor, and Egypt is refusing to allow it. This border has become high traffic for arms smuggling to Hamas through Egypt.

If Israel had done things right in the first place, it would not have come to this.

Israeli leaders need to see the picture clearly, and not compromise (because of that gut feeling of knowing that the land must remain sovereign, in the hands of the Jewish People before a holy God). The land must be stewarded better by the people of this tiny nation, under the direction of the Lord, Himself.

CRAFTED PRAYER:

In the Spirit realm, we declare before the Holy One of Israel, that this nation must retake its legal position before God as the gate keepers of His land. A redeemed and restored Israel will realize how much she has strayed from fulfilling her part in keeping covenant with our Lord. We proclaim that Israel will no longer break covenant with the Creator of this Promised Land. She will not withdraw, recede, or give territory over to the enemy – the Lord’s sovereign territory. In honoring the God of Israel, Israel will understand what Yeshua said:

John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

CRAFTED PRAYER:

We pray that Israel will stop looking at the false peace of the world, but will embrace the peace He gives, so that this nation can truly enter into peace in mind and heart! Amen!

JANUARY 12, 2024 PRAYER UPDATE

Israel and the Nations

 

We are entering into a period called “The Eye of the Storm.” We are about to feel the magnitude of the other side of the storm. This is what intercessors are sensing.

The Eye of the Storm has a calm, low-pressure center. However, it is surrounded by the storm's strongest winds and heaviest rainfall. Once the eye passes, the storm's destructive winds and rain return, as the other side of the storm moves in. This is where the strongest weather prevails! 

As intercessors, we have a greater call to arms right now, using our larger weapons of warfare.  It’s a fuller breakthrough needed for Israel!

We have been in a war, but what is coming will be accelerated, with a vast heavenly army on the front lines, led by the LORD of Hosts. So, its time to gear up for what’s coming.

More Jericho marches are needed! More supernatural intervention; more divine miracles recognized by Israel and the world!

A WORD ABOUT THE SOUTH AFRICAN LAWSUIT AGAINST ISRAEL IN THE INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE IN THE HAGUE:

It should come as no surprise that Israel has been forced to fight a war, not just on the battlefield, but in the international court. Israel has been accused of crimes by this court before.

As one Israeli lawyer put it, international legal systems are manipulated to undermine the basic right of Israel, as a sovereign democratic country, to exercise its self-defense.

In the International Court of Justice, the petition that South Africa is bringing, should not have persuaded Israel to go before the court -- as it is doing – in defending the state of the Jewish People. In the very act of doing this, Israel is having to defend itself from a flawed politically biased court. This is a quagmire for Israel.

This court case, whether Israel wins or not, sets a precedent that Israel may have to continually defend itself as a sovereign state. Israel must be able to engage in defensive military maneuvers to defend its citizens from genocidal terrorists. The nations are coming against Israel’s inherit right.

But, what is the real point of the enemy in bringing a global focus on this trial?

It is distracting the world, once again, from the real dangers going on in the region:

*Hamas is trying to force Israel into a ceasefire before its main leaders can be found and killed; and, before the hostages are found and released.

 *The enemy is trying to keep Israel and its allies distracted from being able to focus attention on the expanding war on Israel’s northern border.

 *The enemy is distracting nations so that they forget Iran’s intention in becoming a nuclear state.

 *The enemy is trying to minimize the focus that Iran is raising the level of war on multi-fronts.

This is becoming a regional, and possibly, an international war. It must be stopped by intensive action of intercessors standing in the gap, in a concentrated effort at advanced spiritual warfare.

SCRIPTURE AND PRAYER POINTS ABOUT THIS CASE AT THE INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE:

Matthew 22:15: “Then the Pharisees met together to plot how to trap Yeshua (Jesus) into saying something for which he could be arrested.”

This is the identification of Israel as a nation, with Jesus the Messiah; with the Savior of the World who is Jewish; who died and was resurrected in the Promised Land; who was rejected and was plotted against.

The objective of Satan is to trap Israel as the Pharisees tried to trap Jesus!

The South African government is operating in the same spirit as the Pharisees operated!

Zechariah 12:3: “And in that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And, all the nations of the earth will come and be gathered against it.”

This scripture highlights that the nations will, unfairly, turn against Israel, and in doing so, will face judgement.

PRAYER POINTS:

*We need to pray for South Africa to turn from being a goat nation into being a sheep nation. And, that God will be merciful in removing the curse from South Africa because its government is cursing Israel, according to Genesis 12:3.

God will show Himself forth in judgement of all nations that turn against Israel, and against the seat of government in Jerusalem.

What South African leaders have done is plot a vain thing (Psalm 2). They, and the International Court of Justice, as well as the United League of Nations (the UN), are taking a stand, with leaders gathering together, against the LORD, and against His Anointed One.

They make shrewd plans against the Lord’s people. And conspire together against His treasured ones. They devise a unified strategy; they form an alliance against the Lord and against Israel. (Psalm 83).

The Lord will rebuke the nations in His anger, and terrify them in His fury.

*The believers in South Africa need to declare over their nation, that their government leaders will: “serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling!”

*Pray that South Africa will not perish in the rebellion of its leaders. Intercede that the LORD will hold back His wrath against this nation.

*Pray also that the Jews of South Africa will quickly, and with determination, set themselves on making Aliyah, and returning to their homeland Israel, before they are hunted down. (Jeremiah 16:16).

 

IMPLICATIONS OF ACTIONS IN THE GAZA WAR:

A spokesman for the Israeli government says that Hamas is a death cult that idolizes martyrdom and jihad. He claims that the IDF considers every Hamas terrorist, “a dead man walking.” He says that Hamas has two options: either surrender or be killed. At least 700 terrorists have been apprehended or have surrendered.

 

CARING FOR THE GAZANS:

The IDF has made 70,000 phone calls to Gaza residents and sent 14 million text messages – to warn Gazans.

Israel has supplied 130,000 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza; set up 2 field hospitals; and 1600 people have been able to leave Gaza and get medical treatment abroad.

This proves that Israel cares about the Gazans, something that the media and world diplomats have refused to believe…. that Israel seeks to help Gazans caught in the crossfire.

 

UPDATE ON THE WAR:

More than 10 Israeli brigades are operating inside Gaza. Most are attacking Hamas in Khan Younis. The IDF is closing in on the leadership of Hamas. Israeli troops are looking for the hostages in Khan Younis.

The IDF knows where Yaya Sinwar is and where the hostages are. Sinwar, the head of Hamas, has surrounded himself with the hostages as his shield of defense. Israel is trying to get to him. Will it be in Gaza? Or, will Israel go after him if he tries to escape through an Egyptian crossing, forcing the hostages to go with him?

THIS IS A PIVOTAL MOMENT IN GAZA!  The potential capture of Sinwar, and the release of the hostages is the reason that the enemy is trying so hard to get the nations to force a ceasefire on Israel now!

A WORD ABOUT EGYPT:

Egypt is doing what it wants. It is closing the borders to not allow Gazans to get out. Many Gazans want to leave Gaza and emigrate. There is not enough pressure from Israel, the U.S. or the EU on Egypt.

According to an Israeli military official, there may be a moment when the Egyptians will have to open the borders. 

YET, this is a double-edged sword. If Israel could close all the borders in and out of Gaza, and create a siege on Gaza, it could stop munitions from Iran, China, and other places that are coming into the Gaza Strip through the Egyptian crossings.

The Egyptians have little control over the Sinai, where Hamas is being supplied with what it needs, militarily.  ISIS was imbedded in the Sinai for awhile. There are terror organizations in the Sinai that are still operating today, sending arms and weapons to Hamas.

*There needs to be international pressure on Egypt to make it impossible for Hamas to keep getting these supplies of weapons.

ISRAEL’S GOALS AND PURPOSES REMAIN INTACT.

The “day after” scenario for Gaza: The Israeli government says that there is a 3D vision for peace: (1) Destroy Hamas; (2) Demilitarize Gaza; (3) De-radicalize Palestinian schools, and re-educate Palestinian children.

PRAYER POINTS:

*ENTREAT THE LORD TO CUT OFF THE MILITARY SUPPLIES TO HAMAS FROM TERROR STATES AND ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE USING EGYPT.

*ON THE OTHER HAND, ENTREAT THE LORD TO CAUSE EGYPT TO OPEN A BORDER THAT ALLOWS GAZANS TO BE ABLE TO EMIGRATE.

*EGYPT IS A KEY GATE IN THIS WAR, AND AS INTERCESSORS THERE IS A NEED TO MONITOR EGYPT IN THE SPIRIT REALM.  FOCUS ON THE GATE OF EGYPT!

*PRAY FOR UNDERSTANDING, KNOWLEDGE, AND WISDOM TO REIGN IN THE MEDIA AND IN DIPLOMATIC CIRCLES – THAT TRUTH AND ACCURACY WOULD PREVAIL, AND NOT BE DISTORTED BY THE ENEMY; THAT ISRAEL WOULD STAND OUT AND BE RECOGNIZED FOR ITS HUMANITARIAN AID CORRIDOR ESTABLISHED FOR THE GAZANS.

*PRAY THAT THE MASTERS OF HAMAS WILL BE CAPTURED, AND THE HOSTAGES SET FREE BEFORE ISRAEL IS FORCED INTO A CEASEFIRE.

*THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE ARE EMBRACING VIOLENT EXTREMISM IN THEIR REFUSAL TO RECOGNIZE ISRAEL AS THE NATION STATE OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE. THEY ARE INFLUENCING THE NATIONS. PRAY FOR A CHANGE OF HEARTS!

SCRIPTURES:

Zechariah 2:8: “After a period of glory, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies sent me against the nations who plundered you. For He said, “Anyone who harms you harms My most precious possession. For whoever touches you, touches the Apple of My Eye.”

Micah 4:11: “And now many nations have been assembled against you, who say, ‘Let her be defiled, and let our eyes gloat over Zion!’ ”

Psalm 129:5: “May all who hate Zion be turned back in shame. May all who hate Jerusalem be turned back in shameful defeat.

 

THE INFLUENCE OF THE AMERICAN ADMINISTRATION:

On the one hand, America is supplying Israel with needed munitions. Israel never has enough munitions according to a military official in a recent briefing. It is an everyday struggle to produce or get all the munitions the IDF needs. It affects decisions in how to operate and where to operate.

On the other hand, the American government is making things very difficult for Israel. U.S. Secretary of State Blinkin was just in Israel for the fifth time since the war began. The Israeli military official said that the U.S. government is interfering in a lot of logistics -- insisting that Israel provide more and more fuel and food to Gazans, which is mostly going to Hamas. Also, the U.S. is trying to coerce Israel into allowing the Gazans to move north in Gaza – which the official says is endangering Israeli soldiers.

The official claims that America is involved in everything Israel is doing in Gaza. The challenge for the Israeli government is how to stick to the goals of the war with all these demands coming from the U.S. Administration. The Administration is looking towards U.S. elections. They want the war over and quiet, in order to deal with the elections campaign.  They have different interests than Israel.

PROCLAIM SCRIPTURE:

Isaiah 59:19: “From the west, people will fear the name of the LORD. And, from the rising of the sun, revere His glory. For He will come like a pent-up flood that the breath of the LORD drives along (overwhelming the enemy). When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.”

 

UPDATE ON ISRAEL’S NORTHERN FRONT WITH LEBANON:

In the north, Hezbollah is dragging Lebanon into a wider war.

The IDF is destroying Hezbollah operatives, from the border area, to 7 km. inside Lebanon. Most of Hezbollah’s operatives have moved from this area. However, it would be very easy for them to return.

There is a narrow window for a diplomatic solution, as Hezbollah forces must be pushed way back from the Israeli border, so there can be a proper demilitarized zone. This is necessary so that 80,000 displaced Israelis are safe to return to their homes and settle there. If there is not enough of a safe zone along the border, Israelis fear an attack could come, like what happened on October 7^, 2023. This has been Iran’s plan all along.

While the diplomatic track has been put in action, this allows the Israeli government to complete its objectives in Gaza, before fully focusing its attention on the northern front with Lebanon. The United States seems to be helping Israel on this diplomatic level.

HOWEVER, A MULTIFRONT WAR IS IGNITING AND BEGINNING TO ESCALATE IN THE REGION!

Meanwhile, Israel is releasing some of its reserved soldiers from active duty on the Lebanon border. They have been serving 90 days in the north. They will go home to their families. They are being told they will be called up again in a month or two or three; called for service for a prolonged operation.

THIS MEANS…. THAT THE IDF IS PLANNING FOR AN INCREASED LEVEL OF WAR IN THE NORTH.

The Lebanese government will either adhere, diplomatically, to UN resolution 1701, which calls for Hezbollah to be pushed back to the Litani River with its weapons. Or, Israel will engage in a full-scale war to push Hezbollah there.

In the recent briefing, the Israeli official who spoke said that Israel needs the Americans to impose a military threat on Lebanon. Otherwise, it is going to be very hard to avoid another Lebanon war, which could be devastating to the Israeli and Lebanese home fronts.

The problem is that the Lebanese government may agree to a push back of 10 km. from the border, which might satisfy the Americans. But, Israeli military experts say this is not enough. There’s a huge amount of Hamas homes with rocket launchers and munitions inside, along that border zone; as well as deep underground terror tunnels.

PRAYER POINTS:

*Pray there is no deception involved in the conclusion of a diplomatic track, with a possible false agreement that gets Hezbollah to pull back only a few kilometers from the border, and not fully to the Litani River. This would be disastrous for Israel in the future.

*Pray that the IDF remains strong in the north, and that the Lord’s heavenly angels are brought in to help Israel in any expanded war in Lebanon. The IDF will need the miraculous help of God, and His heavenly hosts for the people to survive.

*Pray for no surprises that hurt the Israeli northern home front.

*Pray that this multifront conflict, which the Americans and British are now involved in, will be stopped, in prayer, so the Houthis and the Iranians are unable to expand it into a world war.

It’s a cover for Iran’s plans to set the whole Middle East on fire; to weaken Israel and western forces; to strengthen Iran’s allies; and to prepare for further wars against Israel. These plans need to be pushed back, through intense intercession, in Yeshua’s name!

BATTLE PLAN:

Global watchmen need a battle plan for the Middle East and globally. First, to be armed, personally, with the full armor of God on.  Next, having done everything, stand firm. Then, watch out for the enemy’s advancement in his demonic plans, and thwart that advancement in prayer. (Ephesians 6:11, 13;  Isaiah 52:8, Isaiah 62:6-7; Ezekiel 3:17).

Steadfastly, build the walls of prayer; seal the gaps in the walls; and, stand at your place on the walls, always guarding!

Enter into the Spirit of the Lord with your armor on; ready to lift your Sword (the Word of the Lord); as a standard for the peoples; raising your banner on High – Yeshua, the deliver of Israel and the nations!

THE CORPORATE CALL OF UNITY IN INTERCESSION

 

Colossians 3:14:

“And, over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

Love is the bond of perfect unity. 

The Amplified version says:

“Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in (unselfish) love, which is the perfect bond of unity (for everything is bound together in agreement when each one seeks the best for others).”

 

John 17:23:

“I in them and You in Me – that they may be perfectly united, so that the world may know that You sent Me and have loved them just as You have loved me.”

 

Ephesians 4:3:

“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”

It’s diligently keeping the unity of the Spirit with the peace that binds us.

It’s trying our best to let God’s Spirit keep our hearts united.  We do this by living at peace.

There’s diligence and carefulness; there is effort; there is eagerness… to unify.

It’s a “uniting” bond of peace: it’s the “unity” given by the Spirit.

God’s people are being equipped for works of service, so that the Body of Messiah may be built up. How long are we being built up?

Ephesians 4:13:

“…until we all reach unity in the faith (and in the knowledge of the Son of God, and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of the Messiah).”

And, how do we accomplish reaching unity in the faith?

1 Peter 3:18:

Being like-minded; of one mind; harmonious…

And, what else?

Sympathetic, loving one another, compassionate, humble in attitude, tenderhearted, courteous, merciful, kind, modest.

These qualities are what help us to stay united. Here are more:

Romans 12:16:

“Live in harmony with one another. Be of the same mind toward one another.

Do not be proud; enjoy the company of ordinary people; go along with the lowly. And, do not think you know it all!

Do not be haughty (conceited; self-important; exclusive). Never be wise in your own sight, or in your own opinion. Do not overestimate yourself. “

Romans 15:5:

“Now may the God of endurance and encouragement give you to be of the same mind with one another, according to Messiah Jesus.”

It’s the God of patience, consolation, comfort, perseverance, and encouragement that grants you to be likeminded… one toward another.

 

Philippians 2:1-2:

“Therefore, if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ; if any comfort from His love; if any common sharing in the Spirit; if any tenderness and compassion; then make my joy complete; make me truly happy.”

How?

… by being like-minded; by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other.

… having the same love; loving one another; being one in spirit and of one mind.

… working together; united in spirit; intent on one purpose; united in soul; being of one accord; knit together in spirit; living a life that reflects our faith, and spreads the gospel – the good news regarding salvation through faith in the Messiah.

Let’s talk about what happens when we fall into “DIS-UNITY,” in the Body of Messiah:

Mark 3:25: “If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”

“Similarly, a family splintered by feuding will fall apart. That family that fights won’t last long.”

 

HOW DO WE AVOID DIS-UNITY IN CORPORATE INTERCESSION? WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT TO BE UNIFIED?

*When our opinion becomes more important than walking in the virtues of Yeshua (Jesus) towards one another, then we have a real problem.  

Joshua 5:13-14:

“Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a draw sword. Joshua went up to him and asked, ‘Are you for us or for our enemies?’

‘Are you friend or foe?’

“Neither one,” he replied, “but as Commander of the Army of the Lord, I have now come.” Then, Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?”

We need to be praying for justice and righteousness to prevail in the land; release controversies to the Lord; and allow Him to show mercy in judging the people!  He will deal with the lack of balance in society.

In regard to Israel’s pro-social reform movement and its anti-social reform movement, God revealed that Israel was living with unjust weights and balances. There was a lack of balance in the branches of government, and in judicial policy (past, present, and future), and Israeli society was faltering over it.

Proverbs 20:23:

“The LORD detests differing and unequal weights, and dishonest scales do not please Him.”

“The Lord detests double standards.”

Proverbs 11:1:

“Dishonest scales are an abomination to the LORD, but an accurate weight is His delight.”

SO, HOW DO WE PRAY?

WE PRAY FOR BALANCE AND ACCURACY – ALL OF WHICH IS HIS DELIGHT!

HOW DO WE PRAY WHEN WE SEE OUR GOVERNMENT FAILING?  WE PRAY FOR THE LORD’S PERFECT GOVERNMENT TO BE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. AND, WE TURN IT OVER TO HIM:

Isaiah 9:6-7:

“For unto us a Child is born. Unto us a Son is given. And, the government will be upon His shoulder. And, His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace, there will be no end. Upon the throne of David and over His Kingdom, to order it and establish it, with judgement and justice, from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of Hosts will perform this.”

WE DO NOT HAVE TO STRIVE IN OUR PRAYERS, PUSHING OUR OPINIONS TO THE FOREFRONT. GOD’S ORDER WILL ESTABLISH A GOVERNMENT WITH JUDGEMENT AND JUSTICE, AND, HIS KINGDOM WILL NEVER END!

HE WILL REIGN OVER THE HOUSE OF JACOB FOREVER!  (Luke 1:33).

SOME WOULD SAY THAT ISRAEL WAS A “HOUSE DIVIDED IN 2023”, AND THEREFORE WAS PERCEIVED BY THE ENEMY AS BEING A WEAK, VULNERABLE, AND FAILED NATION…. ALL BECAUSE OF “DIS-UNITY.”

THIS MAY HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE “OPEN DOORS” FOR THE ENEMY TO STRIKE THE NATION. THERE WERE WARNINGS ABOUT THE ENEMY BECOMING EMBOLDENED BECAUSE OF THE DIVISIONS IN THE NATION.

BUT, THE “LACK OF UNITY” ALMOST IMMEDIATELY TURNED TO “UNITY” AS ISRAELIS RAN TO SERVE IN THE ARMED FORCES TO DEFEAT THE ENEMY OF THE STATE.

THE NEED TO SURVIVE AS THE ONLY NATION FOR THE JEWISH PEOPLE ON THIS EARTH, BECAME THE PRIMARY FACTOR THAT BROUGHT THIS NATION TOGETHER. AM ISRAEL CHAI!

Israel and the Nations

 

ISRAEL’S RELATIONSHIP WITH THE U.S.:

In recent weeks there have been several opinions expressed by military experts and analysts about how cohesive the relationship is between Israel and the United States. Some have spoken of both countries seeing “eye to eye,” but others have said that Americans are very supportive until there is a clash of its strategic interests with Israel in its expanding war in the Middle East.

This has been further explored by Israeli military officials in conversations with U.S. opinion makers to get a clearer and more truthful picture of what the U.S.-Israel alliance really looks like moving forward.

American radio host and commentator, Gadi Taub, gave his assessment on current American foreign policy in the Middle East, during a Webinar hosted by the Israel Defense Security Forum (IDSF).

In his opinion, Israelis seem to have a sentimental view of the U.S., and do not ask what is the strategic position of the Biden Administration, including Biden’s regional policy. Is it a continuation of the Obama Administration’s policy?

According to Taub, there has been a realignment of American policy. A pro-western alliance has backed Iran into a corner. At the same time, America is wavering sanctions, which is allowing the mullahs to expand their interests, and putting them in a position to take their place on the word stage.

The general assessment of Taub is that U.S. policy in the Middle East is not working. Except for the four years that former U.S. President Donald Trump was in the White House, for two decades the U.S. has helped Iran to try and obtain regional hegemony, in Taub’s opinion. The JCPOA nuclear negotiations with Iran have been part of that American strategy. Iran has been able to expand its proxies and surround Israel with enemies including Hamas and Hezbollah, as well as opposition forces in Syria, Iraq, and the Houthi’s in Yemen.  

According to Taub, when the war broke out in Israel on October 7, 2023, the first thing that the Americans thought about was how to prevent this war, which they saw as collapsing their system of alliances, and challenging the Biden Administration’s policy of appeasement towards Iran. The White House has looked at how to save its policy from the political damage of this war, Taub states.

Furthermore, he thinks that Americans have tried to localize this war. However, what happened is that it revealed a U.S. policy that has emboldened Iran’s proxies.

The first thing that Biden officials did, after this war started on October 7, 2023, Taub believes was good for Israel. Israel’s interests and America’s interests converged in the beginning of the war.

Yet, Israel’s concern was the threat of a two-front war, in the south and in the north… both happening at the same time. Taub shared that the American aircraft carriers that arrived in the region, prevented the spread of the war, but it also saved America’s appeasement policy towards Iran.

In the future, if the war does spread to the northern border, it will reveal that America’s appeasement policy failed, according to Taub.  

U.S. President Joe Biden has continued to unfreeze Iranian assets, from October 7, 2023, until now. The appeasement policy towards Iran has been in place for years.

At the start of this current war, the convergence policy between Israel and the U.S. began to change when Israel addressed its plans to not only destroy Hamas, but to eliminate the threat of Hezbollah in the north of Israel.

Taub confirmed what others have said… that the Biden Administration will never let Israel initiate a war with Hezbollah. This limits Israel’s ability to attempt a pre-emptive strike, which has its advantages over its enemy.

Israel was already forced to evacuate northern border communities and displace 60,000 citizens once the current war began, because of Hezbollah’s aggression in the north.  How can Israel re-populate northern towns and villages without taking out Hezbollah? There is no security zone; no demilitarized zone as a buffer between Israel and Radwan Hezbollah forces. Israel must destroy Hezbollah at some point, which has been the position of several Israel governments.

Israel has recently woken up from its pre-conceptions and pre-disposition that its leaders walked in, ever since the 1970’s. Israeli officials developed a defensive position, different from Ben Gurion’s original position which was offensive. Instead, Israeli governments began to build Iron Domes and other defense mechanisms to be used in military conflicts.

Meanwhile, Israel has continued to have an enemy which has been offensive and has taken advantage of the Jewish State.

When U.S. Secretary of State, Antony Blinkin was here, recently, he sat in on Israel’s cabinet meeting which was not the usual protocol of a Foreign Minister. The right protocol, Taub said, was to meet with Israel’s Foreign Minister. Taub claims that Blinkin dictated limits in the way Israel could conduct the war with Hamas. Blinken told Israel to avoid civilian casualties in Gaza, and to not bomb UN facilities. Israel knew that Hamas was hiding their weapons in UNWRA schools, and other places such as hospitals and homes.

Blinken also expected Israel not to move populations around in Gaza. Furthermore, Blinkin told Israel it did not have months to finish the war in Gaza, but just weeks. This would result in Israel not being able to complete its goals of dismantling the Hamas presence in Gaza.

Taub has assessed that the U.S. seems eager to end this war before Israel can obtain a victory. Taub said, this would leave “blood in the water for other sharks to smell.”

There were many phases of wars with Egypt through the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s, when its leadership wanted to destroy Israel, until there was a peace agreement in 1979 between Israel and Egypt. This broke the ring around Israel of Egypt’s attempt to try and destroy the Jewish State.

This current war against Hamas is the first phase in Israel being released from the noose that Iran is trying to put around it.  Biden is thinking that Israel has weeks to finish this war. But, Israel is thinking decades.

Taub explains that Israel needs to strategically plan to release the noose, while taking out Iran’s nuclear program. This cannot happen in just weeks, Taub said.

“We should not go for hostage deals,” according to Taub. He added: “It is not true that there were 240 hostages and now 140. We are 7 million hostages of Hamas now. We can’t run national policy based on the fate of 140 people, when the fate of 7 million people is standing in the balance.”

Taub challenged those Israelis who have thought about the fate of their loved ones only, and have been consumed by this alone. He has been concerned about these individual Israelis who are not restrained by moral responsibility for the state, itself, or by the collective moral fiber of the people. He explained that the majority of Israelis consider the top priority in their lives the survival of the state of Israel.

He stated that it is not an option to attend to everyone’s inner needs which are triggered by the trauma of the situation in the land right now. He talked about what the Maccabees did that considered the fate of the nation as hanging in the balance. “We need the spirit of the Maccabees, that were fanatics, when you have to face Hezbollah… with no scruples.”

Meanwhile, before October 7, 2023, the Americans were trying to create a Sunni alliance to counter the Iranian-Russian-Chinese front. And, Taub wondered, what will be the American pressure for the day after Hamas is conquered?

Taub’s assessment is that American policy has internal contradictions. “Biden keeps raising funds for the Iranians as we speak. The concern of the Biden Administration is a total collapse of their policy in a war.”

Furthermore, Taub claims that the Biden Administration wants to prevent an Iranian-Israel war, that the United States would be dragged into. This is a major reason for Biden’s appeasement policy towards Iran. Taub says there have been more than 50 attacks on American forces in the Middle East, and the Biden Administration has not responded. Instead, the White House keeps unfreezing Iranian funds.

From Taub’s viewpoint, Blinken’s recent visit to Israel was to lay out limits that would not allow Israel to win this current war. If Israel abides by Blinken’s restrictions, the IDF will not be able to take out Hamas. Blinken put a lot of pressure on Israel in talking about humanitarian issues.

This coming year is an election year in America. So, there is a lot at stake for Biden when it comes to Palestinian society and Gaza.

How strongly can the Israeli cabinet stand in the face of American pressure? This is an existential war, and Taub declared that Israel must stand strong. He pointed out the Iranian threat in the region in terms of world trade, and Iran’s ambition for regional hegemony.

Taub spoke of two clocks running here: (1) The Iranian clock of existential danger. And, (2) the American clock. He pondered, when will the Americans wake up to the failure of U.S regional policy?  When will the west, in general, wake up to radical Islam? Taub proclaimed that Israel is doing its best to help the U.S. wake up!

The American public is decidedly with Israel over being with Iran, according to Taub, and Americans are partial towards Israel, in this current Middle East war.  Taub said it has been stated that the Biden Administration is going to save Hamas from destruction, despite Israel having different goals. Taub wonders if there is a way that Israel can destroy Hamas without a full break from the Democratic American Administration.

In conclusion, as far as the IDF and the Israeli government is concerned, they are resolute to achieve the goals of this current war and destroy Hamas. But contrary to what Biden wants, it will take many months, and possibly years, to stabilize Gaza, as well as the terror infrastructure in the Middle East, that is on a massive scale. It requires a lot of time to deal with this… much more than can meet America’s current demands towards Israel.

PRAYER POINTS:

*Ask the Lord to give officials in the Biden Administration wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and revelation that will change American policy in the Middle East to line up with the word of God.

PROVERBS 21:1: “The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by the LORD; He guides it wherever He pleases.”

*Pray that the Lord guides the heart of American President Joe Biden, and directs him to line-up with His covenant and biblical plan concerning the nation of Israel.

PROVERBS 21:2: “Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs and examines the hearts [of people and their motives].”

*Pray that the intentions of Biden become exposed and dealt with by the Lord, Himself.

*The U.S. government is being tested, while the majority of the American people support Israel. Thank the Lord for this!

PROVERBS 27:6: “Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.”

*Pray that the policies of decades old State Department officials, which have not been favorable towards Israel, be completely uprooted, in Yeshua’s name! May the Lord also shed His light on whether the current American Administration is a friend or foe; and if a foe, then let there be a change in personnel at every senior level of the U.S. government.  May the Lord provide alternatives to current decisionmakers in America, so that those who are chosen to lead American in the future, will show favor towards the Jewish People and the state of Israel.  

CRAFTED PRAYER:

Lord, we ask You to open the door to more influencers in the Body of Messiah, giving them strategic positions in the U.S. government. Put those influencers in touch with lawmakers, who will set new clear U.S. policy regarding the Middle East. May revelation come to these influencers as to God’s scriptural promises regarding Israel and the Jewish People.

Another shooting terror attack in Jerusalem. Same bus stop, at the exit of city, where there have been multiple attacks in the past. It is a vulnerable point.

Several Israelis died in that shooting attack.  An Israeli reserve soldier who got out of his car, crossed the road, and killed the terrorists. However, he himself was killed. Israeli troops that arrived on the scene thought he was also a terrorist and shot him. It was an accident in the midst of chaos. They call such accidents here: “friendly fire.”

The identities of the terrorists showed that they were from Jerusalem. This attack happened in the middle of the so-called cease-fire.

PRAYER POINTS:

Please remember this vulnerable bus stop in your prayers! Please do battle in the Spirit realm… that this bus stop will no longer become a bulls-eye target for terrorists!  No more ambushes from enemy gangsters. No more demonic confusion and chaos, that causes the lives of our soldiers!

We DECLARE the heart cry of David, according to PSALM 64 for our citizens:

“O God, listen to my complaint. Protect my life from my enemies’ threats.

Hide me from the plots of this evil mob, from this gang of wrongdoers.

 

They sharpen their tongues like swords, and aim their bitter words like arrows. They shoot from ambush at the innocent, attacking suddenly and fearlessly. They encourage each other to do evil, and plan how to set their traps in secret.

 

“Who will ever notice?” they ask. As they plot their crimes, they say: We have devised the perfect plan!”

 

Yes, the human heart and mind are cunning.

But God Himself will shoot them with His arrows, suddenly striking them down.

 

Their own tongues will ruin them, and all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.

 

Then everyone will be afraid; they will proclaim the mighty acts of God, and realize all the amazing things He does. The Godly will rejoice in the LORD, and find shelter in Him. And those who do what is right will praise Him.”

 

Please proclaim Psalm 64 in your times of spiritual warfare.

 

 

 MILITARY UPDATE AND HOW THE IDF SEES THE PLIGHT OF REMAINING HOSTAGES:

 

The IDF is moving forward with the war. There are more IDF goals in the north of Gaza, and in the south.

The IDF wants a demilitarized zone in Gaza, with Hamas no longer controlling Gaza anymore.

There have been a lot of IDF efforts to do undercover operations, even to bring one hostage back, but, it has not worked, so far.

UPCOMING MILITARY OPERATIONS:

The IDF has 3 neighborhoods yet to take control of in north Gaza. What is different is that Israeli commanders, along with the government, decided there won’t be fighting between houses; but, they will be going into the battle only after the houses collapse.

PRAYER POINTS:

Pray that Israeli soldiers will find the enemy wherever he is hiding!

JOB 24:16: In the dark they (the enemy) breaks into houses which they marked for themselves in the daytime; They do not know the light. They reject the light!

Let God’s light reveal enemy positions to the IDF as they go into battle after the houses collapse.

In this next phase of fighting, there is a lot of firepower first: strikes from the air; artillery; and the killing of terrorists before the IDF goes in. This will be the case in the north, and in the south… especially, when the soldiers attack the city of Khan Yunis. Already, they have sent pamphlets, warning Gazans to get out of the city. This is an important target for the IDF where a difficult battle is expected to take place.  Please keep this specific city in your prayers!

 

Most of the tunnels have been in the north. The IDF thinks that in the south it will be easier to move around, even using a vehicle.

The IDF is still hoping that Hamas will give all the hostages back.

WHERE DO THE SO-CALLED “INNOCENT” GAZANS STAND:

Israeli military officials say that the Gazans cannot be trusted. There was a report several weeks ago, that the Gazans found a hostage that had escaped and gave him back to Hamas. According to Israeli leaders, many Gazans are acting on behalf of Hamas.

TWO WAVES OF MASSACRES:

Most of the world is not completely informed that there were two waves of massacres on October 7, and in the days that followed. There was not that much information in the news about it.

Israeli military officials say that the second wave of terror, that killed and slaughtered civilians, may have been Gazans helping Hamas. The claim is that there is no distinguishing factor between Hamas and some civilians that are caught up in these evil acts against Israel. This needs prayer – greater discernment, understanding, and wisdom for the IDF.

The IDF must rely on a lot of intelligence, so as not to attack where there are hostages. Israel knows where some of the hostages still are. But, it is very hard to get inside and to evacuate them because Hamas is holding on to them, with explosive charges, wherever they are.

If the IDF has opportunities to bring them out, then they will. But, they are trying to distinguish between the terrorists and the hostages, and not to attack the infrastructure of where they are located. This is a key point for prayer!

 

PRAYER POINTS:

In PSALM 31:1-5 we read from David the Psalmist:

“In You, LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in Your righteousness. Turn Your ear to listen to me; rescue me quickly. Be my rock of protection, a fortress where I will be safe.

Since You are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of Your name lead and guide me.  (David is reminding the Lord of what He has promised. This is David’s assurance, by faith!)  

For the honor of Your name, lead me out off this danger! Keep me free from the trap that is set for me, for You are my refuge. (Another version says: Pull me from the trap my enemies set for me, for I find protection in You alone). I entrust my spirit into Your hand. Rescue me, LORD, for you are a faithful God.

Pray for exposure of wicked schemes:

EPHESIANS 5:12-13: “For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But, their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them.”

THE ATTITUDE OF THE ISRAELIS:

The majority of Israelis do not want to stop this war until the goals of the government are accomplished… that is, the finishing of Hamas’ rule in Gaza. Also, an established demilitarized zone, in Gaza, so that Israel’s southern communities are no longer threatened.

Until the Lord delivers Israel from the Islamic extremist elements in Arab society, this nation will be dealing with the reality that the presence of Jewish citizens in their own homeland is not accepted. This is the bottom line. But, God is using this to deliver His people. This is where the breakthrough will come in! The more insecure and afraid His people are, the more they will run into His arms!

Israel is going through great hardships and suffering. The population is being dealt with strongly by the Lord; His judgement has come to the Household of Israel.
