Jerusalem, Israel
AUGUST- SEPTEMBER 2015 PRAYER UPDATE
Israel and the Nations
IRAN NUCLEAR AGREEMENT:
To-date, U.S.
President Barack Obama is 8 votes away from capturing 1/3 of the Senate, which
he needs to push the Iran deal through.
Obama needs at
least 146 House members to approve the Iran deal in order to get it through the
House of Representatives. Currently, he has the support of 69.
There is about
a month to go before Congress votes. Some members of Congress feel that the
Congressional battle is stacked in favor of the President. Many Democrats want
to curry favor with Obama so they have his political backing in the future.
Pray that President Obama chooses to walk in the path of
righteousness and justice, fearing God in all his deeds and efforts behind the
scenes.
Declare over him that he will return to the Lord God
Almighty, according to 1 Peter 2:25: “For you were continually
straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of
your souls.”
Pray that American citizens are active in informing their
members of Congress about their opposition to the agreement -- not just because
it is bad for Israel, but because it is also bad for the United States.
Intercede for Congressional members, asking God to convict
their hearts of the moral thing to do, not of what will help them to advance,
politically.
Ephesians 6:14:
“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with
the breastplate of righteousness in place…”
Isaiah 11:5: “Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash
around his waist.”
Job 29:14: “I
put on righteousness as my clothing; justice was my robe and my turban.”
One of the
deceptive factors surrounding the Iranian nuclear deal is that, while Obama
assured Israel that he “had its back”, he changed the diplomatic course.
Instead of insisting that Iran dismantle its nuclear arsenal and
infrastructure, Obama decided to compromise. He negotiated a deal that would
only delay Iran’s quest for nuclear capability. This is one reason why Israelis
have lost confidence in the U.S. in regard to safeguarding Israel’s security.
And, why Israelis support a tough Israeli government policy to stop Iran from
becoming a nuclear threshold state.
Pray that Americans will become more and more sympathetic to
Israel’s need for safety and security from the tyranny of Iranian leaders who
are determined to become a nuclear state and wipe Israel off the map.
Ephesians 5:9: “…for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and
righteousness and truth.”
Pray for Israel to become less dependent on American
security and more dependent on the Lord, according to Joshua 1:9: “Have I
not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be
discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
Meanwhile, as a
secret deal between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has
become more public, it appears that Iran will be able to police its own illegal
activity. The U.S. government trusts the Iranian regime to gather evidence at
the controversial Parchin nuclear site, where Iran has concealed its illegal
deeds for years!
Pray that the deeds of the enemy continue to surface giving
no room for Congress to be fooled into believing the Iran deal is worthy of
consideration.
Romans 13:12: “The
night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of
darkness and put on the armor of light.”
Psalm 106:3: “How blessed are those who keep justice, who practice
righteousness at all times!”
TROUBLE IN THE NORTH: Israel is concerned about four recent Islamic Jihad missile
strikes against the Jewish State that have been sponsored by Iran. The strikes
came from Syrian territory and Israel retaliated. The aggression could start a
war in the north. Israel is also worried about Hezbollah becoming a
full-fledged military organization in Lebanon, working in closer alliance with
the Lebanese army. Hezbollah now has precise lethal weapons, a significant
amount of which have been provided to them by Iran.
In the case of
a future war with Lebanon, the IDF has been preparing to evacuate citizens in
the north, and replace them with battalions of combat troops. Trenches have
been built, fences and walls have been erected along the Israeli-Lebanon
border, but not all preparations or emergency procedures have been completed.
Pray for more watchmen on the wall, who are alerted to what
is going on in the north. Intercede for preparations and procedures to be
completed so that the IDF and the Home Front Command are ready to deal a blow
to the enemy.
Declare over Israel a clear sound of preparedness, according
to Numbers 10:9: “When you go into battle in your own land
against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you
will be remembered by the Lord your God and rescued from your enemies.”
1 Corinthians 14:8: “Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call,
who will get ready for battle?”
EVENTS COMING UP IN SEPTEMBER THAT NEED SPECIAL PRAYER
ATTENTION:
Pray that
journalists in Israel will be united in their opposition of such a deal. Pray that
the general public will continue to unite behind Israel’s Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu, who continues to let the world know that this agreement is
a bad deal.
Intercede for
Netanyahu, believing God to turn his life around so he can rule and reign in
Israel in the ways of the Lord Almighty.
Declare Isaiah 32:1: “See, a
king will reign in righteousness and rulers will rule with justice.”
Pray that such agendas
are thwarted from happening, as Israel does not want its military capabilities
exposed, hindered, or harmed in any way. Pray for God’s protection over Israel’s
weapons that defend the Jewish State.
Psalm 140:4: “Keep me, O Lord, from
the hands of the wicked; Preserve me from violent men who have purposed to trip
up my feet.”
Psalm 17:8: “Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide
me in the shadow of Your wings.”
Psalm 71:4: “Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the
wicked, from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel.”
2 Corinthians 10:4: “The weapons we fight with are not
the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish
strongholds.”
Ask the Lord to
raise up a generation of believers, operating in the halls of government, who
call on His name and walk in the integrity of the Lord: “in
purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere
love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of
righteousness in the right hand and in the left…” (2 Corinthians 6:6-7).
