Israel and the Nations
PRAISE
GOD THROUGH WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW!
Psalm
103:1-5: “Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless
His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits; who
forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases; who redeems your
life from destruction. Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies.
Who satisfies our mouth with good things. So, that your youth is renewed like
the eagle’s.”
THANK YOU,
LORD, FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT!
Acts
2:32-33: “God has raised Yeshua from the dead, and we are all witnesses of
this. Exalted to the right hand of God, He has received from the Father the
promised Holy Spirit, and has poured out what you now see and hear.”
PRAYER:
For the
Body of Messiah in the land to receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
PRAYER
FOR THE GOVERNMENT:
This last
week, because of the shaky government coalition, an important bill was not
passed. The bill ensures rule and order over the territories in Judea and
Samaria – the West Bank – for the Jews living there. For the most part,
Palestinians have jurisdiction over their land. But, the Israeli military has
special jurisdiction over Jewish land. Therefore, it is necessary to pass the
bill in order to continue that oversight.
The current
Palestinian leader, Mahmoud Abbas, is ailing, and weak – both in his physically
being, and in his ability to rule over the Palestinians. This could create a
power vacuum in the Palestinian arena, opening the door for Hamas to come in,
and with it, more extremism. This could also lead to greater conflict in the
territories and in Israel.
PRAYER:
Pray for
a Godly breakthrough in regard to Israeli politics that will give Israel a
stable government. Pray for a Palestinian leader to emerge who wants true peace
with Israel, not based on demands of land for peace. Pray for any conflict
within Palestinian politics to be resolved quickly, so that Hamas cannot enter
into the crisis in the Palestinian territories (Judea and Samaria) that would
cause more turmoil and chaos.
Isaiah 33:5-7: “The LORD is exalted for He dwells on high. He will fill Zion with His justice and righteousness. Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times. And, the strength of salvation. The fear of the LORD is His treasure. But, now your brave warriors weep in public. Our ambassadors of peace cry in bitter disappointment.
Lord, we
ask you to deal with the ambassadors of peace, in this land, and
internationally – that they would not bring false peace; that confusion would
be in their ranks if they try to harm Your land and Your people.
Daniel
2:21: “He controls the course of world events. He removes kings and sets up
other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars.”
We
intercede for the best and most Godly men to rule over the land of Israel,
according to who You, Lord. May your choices be elected for government office
of Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and Defense Minister, especially.
If there
are elections, we pray according to 1 Kings 3:9: “Therefore give Your servant
an understanding heart to judge Your people and to discern between good and
evil. For who is able to govern this great people of Yours?”
ISRAEL-LEBANON
CRISIS:
Sheik
Nasrallah’s threats, as the head of Hezbollah, is causing the IDF to prepare
for conflict in the north. According to Amos Yadlin, the head of the Institute
for National Strategic Studies, and the former head of IDF Intelligence, the
arrival of the Greek-British drilling rig, and its placement near the Shark gas
field, prior to the start of production, put pressure on the Lebanese system,
and was in a disputed sea area between Israel and Lebanon. The threat from
Nasrallah is that Israel is going to rob Lebanon’s resources. He would look to
prevent the drilling ship from exhausting the gas, which would, ultimately,
lead to war with Israel. These threats have already been made by Lebanese President
Aoun and Prime Minister Mikati. Lebanon’s claim to the area is not considered
legal Lebanese territory, and not acceptable to the U.S. and the international
community.
PRAYER:
We need to
pray that the dispute between Israel and Lebanon on the maritime border is
quickly resolved and settled. Lebanon must cease its threats, therefore,
settling with Israel, so that Lebanon can provide their citizens with energy
resources for their devastated economy. There are gas reserves in the area of
Lebanon which are not in dispute.
If this
comes to war, and we pray not, we declare, 1 Samuel 14:12: “So, the men of the outpost called
out to Jonathan and his armor-bearer, ‘Come on up, and we will teach you a
lesson!’ ‘Follow me,’ Jonathan told his armor bearer, ‘for the LORD has
delivered them into the hand of Israel.’ ”
We pray
that God will protect Israel from the aggression of Hezbollah in Lebanon,
according to Psalm 44:5: “Through You we push back our enemies; through Your
name, we trample our foes. I put no trust in my bow; I do not count on my sword
to save me. But, You give us victory over our enemies. You put our adversaries
to shame.”
Psalm
31:15: “My times are in Your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those
who pursue me.”
ALIYAH:
Immigration
to Israel of thousands of Jews from the Ukraine and Russia continues. The
schools to learn Hebrew are full, and they cannot start learning until July.
There are other problems for these new immigrants. They are struggling to find
good accommodations in Israel, as there is a housing shortage, nationwide.
There are not enough apartments available at a suitable price. All new
immigrants are finding out how expensive it is to live in Israel right now.
PRAYER:
Pray for
a family who escaped during their arduous journey from Mariupol. They had to
leave sons, husbands, and fathers behind who are required to fight in the war
by the Ukrainian government.
Pray for
unifications of families; and, for healing of all those traumatized by fleeing
from their homes in the war zone.
Pray for
an outpouring of compassion, mercy, and helps by the Israeli government and
people in the land to provide housing, humanitarian aid, counseling – whatever
is needed at this time, and in the future.
Pray for
believers to share the love of the Messiah to those settling in the land,
reaching out with all grace, lovingkindness, and care for the new “olim”
Jeremiah
32:41: “I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this
land with all my heart and soul.”
Matthew
25:35-36 “For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and
you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you invited me in. I
needed clothes and you clothed me. I was sick and you looked after me. I was in
prison, and you came to visit me.”
CONCLUSION:
Aaronic
Benediction in the Torah Portion this week:
Numbers
6:24-27: “The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face to shine upon
you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you. And,
give you peace. So, they will put My name on the children of Israel, and I will
bless them.”
