PRAYER
ALERT!! EXCLUSIVE!!
RUSSIAN ALIYAH IN DANGER:
There is great instability wherever Russia is active right
now. The recent challenge to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s leadership, by
the Wagner Group, caused jitters among Jews in Russia.
In Israel, members of the Israeli government do not consider
most of Russia’s Jews to be halachically Jewish. Furthermore, Orthodox members
in Netanyahu’s coalition want to amend the Law of Return to eliminate the
“grandparents” clause, which states that a person can no longer immigrate if
only their grandparents are Jewish. Many Russian Jews did not grow up Jewish, because
of the pressures of communism, but their grandparents were Jewish, and they can
prove it.
Arguments between Israeli leaders in the Knesset are exposing
what is happening behind the scenes.
Speaking with an Israeli Russian official, recently, he
explained the Russian Aliyah issue from his perspective, which has been somewhat
different than what is being reported in the media. He has been on the Knesset
Committee for Aliyah and Absorption a few times during the last few weeks. Here
are excerpts from what he shared:
“There is a huge problem regarding our Minister of Aliyah
who is saying outloud that he is not interested in Russian Aliyah. He is
interested only in French and Anglo-Saxon Aliyah. That is what he said in his
own voice.”
“There is a big panic inside Russian society. The Jewish
Community there is one of the main communities that is afraid and concerned
about what is going to happen.”
Nativ is the organization that helps in the beginning of
the Aliyah process. A Jewish Russian can start making Aliyah in Moscow, with
the help of Nativ. Or, they can come to Israel.
“During the war with Ukraine and Russia, until a month
ago, there were centers that were made especially for ‘urgent Aliyah.’ You
could go to one of the seven centers. You could make Aliyah in a few days or
one week. Recently, the Minister of Absorption decided to close the centers in
Israel… He is interested in promoting Aliyah in the U.S., in France, and in
Western Europe. He is not interested in Eastern Europe.”
European countries are luring the Russian Jews away from immigrating
to Israel, offering large salaries, great conditions, and trying to draw them
inside Europe.
“Israel is a first station for many of those Jewish
people, and of course, they are choosing not to come to Israel because it is
impossible for the procedure for all these people to take place. They are
getting no help.”
Right now, it takes a year for Jews out of Russia to get
their ID card in Israel. To immigrate
from Russia, they have to wait six months to get an appointment. Then, they need
to get in the line of the Nativ Israeli consulate in Moscow. The line is 3,000
people, and the process takes another 10 months.
The other way to make Aliyah, is that the Russian Jews used
to be able to get on a plane, come to Israel, and within one or two weeks the
process would be completed. It was that way. The numbers coming were
higher then.
“This is the first time that the Ministry of Aliyah is
trying to stop the Aliyah. Not to promote Aliyah, but to stop Aliyah.”
Some of the Jews are not wanting to wait in Russia. The
Russian people, in general, are afraid of what is to come. And, so they are
trying, right now, to get out. The Russian government is recruiting male
citizens to go into the army and fight in Ukraine. So, Russian people are
running away. They are running to Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Dubai, Turkey, etc.
Some are running to Finland, as well. Many places.
According to this Israeli Russian official, millions of
people are running away from Russia, especially because of drones that are bombing
Russia. The people do not want to go to war. They want to live in peace.
The second biggest Jewish community in the world is in
Russia. (Note: Approximately, 500,000 Jews). The first is in the United
States. The Israeli government is not interested in absorbing the Russian Jews.
“The Israeli government is doing this because the
decision-makers in our government, who are responsible for all the Aliyah
process (Ministry of Interior; Ministry of Absorption), don’ t want the Russian
Jewish community in Israel.”
Today, Israel is cutting short the Aliyah process for
them.
“They are doing this because these people are not going
to vote for these (political) parties. And, they are afraid, in this way, they
are importing electoral power to other parties.”
People in Russia or Ukraine need to know that the moment come
to Israel, it will be impossible to stay here for one year. They will not be
able to work because they can’t get a work visa until they finish their
process.
“People need to come to Israel on their own, with their
families, and find the finances to rent an apartment, to buy food, etc. And,
even their children can not go to the kindergarten and schools. It is becoming
“mission impossible” to make Aliyah.”
The Israeli government also closed all the visa
departments in Israel for six months. In order to make Aliyah, the Russian Jews
need a visa. There is no one in Israel who is dealing with visas. So, all the
people who want to change their status in Israel, they are stuck also.
The Israeli Russia official thinks this is being done on
purpose. “I really hope the Jewish Agency, which is objective, and a powerful
organization, will step in, and put their full influence on the Minister of
Aliyah, and the Minister of Interior, and try to prevent further damage that is
going to happen.”
“Some of the people in Russia and Ukraine are in danger
for their lives. “
PRAYER POINTS:
With future turmoil expected due to uncertainty about the
stability of the Russian government, now is the time for concentrated prayer
for Russian Aliyah. If there are those in the Israeli government who are
becoming an obstacle in the Aliyah process, then pray that the Lord exposes their
sins, they repent, and they begin to honor the Lord and His Word!
Ephesians 5:11: “Have nothing to do with the fruitless
deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.”
Psalm 21:11: “Though they plot evil against you and
devise wicked schemes, they cannot succeed.”
The Lord has a plan. Nations that try to violate His plan
are hurt.
Jeremiah 18:7-10: “At any time I might announce that a
nation or kingdom will be uprooted, torn down, and destroyed. But if that nation I warned turns from its evil, then I will
relent of the disaster I had planned to bring. And if at another time I announce that I will
build up and establish a nation or kingdom; and if it does evil in My sight and
does not listen to My voice, then I will relent of the good I had intended for
it.”
We pray that Russia will do right before the Lord, and Putin
will turn from his wicked ways!
Job 12:21-24: “He pours out contempt on nobles and disarms the mighty. He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings
deep shadows into light. He makes
nations great, and destroys them; he enlarges nations, and disperses them. He
deprives the leaders of the earth of their reason; He makes them wander in a
trackless waste.”
He strips leaders of understanding and intelligence; He
removes the heart of wisdom from them.
What about the Russian Aliyah? The north is
mentioned, often, in scripture:
Isaiah 43:6: “I will say to the north, ‘Give them
up.” and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring my sons from afar and my
daughters from the ends of the earth.”
Psalm 107:2-3: “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom
He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy and gathered from the
lands, from east and west, from north and south.”
Isaiah 56:8: “Thus
declares the Lord GOD, who gathers the dispersed of Israel: “I will gather to
them still others besides those already gathered.” (This indicates that the Jews come in
waves, and not all at once!)
Isaiah 49:12: “Surely these shall come from afar; Look!
Those from the north and the west, And these from the land of Sinim. (translated
to Aswan, Egypt, or China).
Deuteronomy 30:4: “Even if you have been banished to the
farthest horizon, He will gather you and return you from there.”
CRAFTED PRAYER:
Lord, there once was a major flow of Russian Jews
immigrating to Israel. Then, the numbers decreased. They increased for awhile
during the war between Russian and the Ukraine. Now, thousands of Russian Jews
want to make Aliyah, but there are obstacles in their path – both in Russian
and Israel. Remove the obstacles! Remove the stones!
Isaiah 62:10: “Pass through, pass through the gates! Prepare
the way for the people. Build-up, build-up the highway! Remove the stones.
Raise a banner for the nations.”
Prepare the highway for My people to return! Smooth
out the road; pull out the boulders; raise a flag for all the
nations to see.
Yes, Lord, whatever is in the way of Your people from the
north returning home, remove the rocks in the path.
We call the Jews forth, in Yeshua’s name! Signal them to
come; let there be a flag and an ensign showing them, “this is the way, walk in
it!”
Isaiah 11:12: “He will raise a banner for the nations and
gather the exiles of Israel; He will collect the scattered of Judah from the
four corners of the earth.”
Isaiah 26:1: “In that day this song will be sung in the
land of Judah: We have a strong city; salvation is established as its
walls and ramparts.”
Lord, this move of Aliyah is connected with salvation.
As You call Your people to come, You will also pour out salvation on
them!
Isaiah 62:11: “The LORD has made proclamation to the ends
of the earth: ‘Say to the Daughter of Zion, ‘See, your Savior comes! See, His
reward is with Him, and His recompense accompanies Him.’ ”
CRAFTED PRAYER:
Lord, we pray for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and
his government to not hold back from getting every Jew out of Russia who wants
to immigrate to Israel. We pray that You, Lord, put a yearning in his heart,
that this is part of the fulfillment in the Tenach to bring Your people home.
Let Netanyahu have dreams and visions in the night that cause him to do
everything he can to fix the issues that hinder Aliyah from the north. Cause
those Orthodox who do not want the Russian Jews to come, to have changed hearts,
too. Let them not try and change the Law of Return to make it more difficult
for Russia’s Jews to come home.
Let Netanyahu see right from wrong and not try to appease
Putin, the Orthodox in his government, and others who want to restrict the Jews
of the north from settling in their homeland… eretz Israel.
May they come to know the Lord in the midst of settling
in the land! Amen!
