PRAYER UPDATE –
SEPTEMBER 13, 2025
Israel and the
Nations
On September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk was killed. We had only
heard of his broadcast program, and watched it briefly. But, on the day of his
demise, and since, we have learned much more about this brave soul…
Through his organization, Turning Point, Charlie Kirk (who has now become a
household name in his death), drew young adults to Jesus, engaging with
them on college campuses.
From the numerous writings about who he was, as a vibrant and
brilliant young Christian political leader, his mission in life was to debate
the wrong thinking of his generation, and to draw young people to the truth, as
he saw it. His greatest purpose was to share the good news of the Messiah with
young college-age students.
He spoke to the Gen Z generation. Many of the Christians that listened, and
considered him a hero, now consider him a martyr. There was at least one report
that stated his comments on the possibility that his enemies would try and take
his life. He was threatened numerous times, and so was his family. But, it did
not hold him back. His last rally, in Utah, drew 3,000 young adults who wanted
to hear what he had to say.
The assassination of
Charlie Kirk will raise-up warriors who want to follow in his footsteps, even
unto death. They will become lions in battle, that look for a reason to be
brave, courageous, truth tellers. Charlie’s standard was, first and foremost, a
biblical standard, and he held a biblical worldview. His wife has already
testified she will continue in his footsteps.
Charlie also knew Israel’s place in the scriptures, and God’s
favor on the people and the land. U.S. President Donald Trump, and Israeli
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, along with well-known media commentators, and
popular entertainers, commented on Charlie’s life; as well as sharing in the
grief that his family is going through. They gave tribute to him.
Going beyond his leaving this earth at only 31 years of age,
and looking at this from a scriptural point of view, Charlie Kirk could be one
of those believers that is mentioned in Revelation 6:9: “When he
opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been
slain, for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held.” (Read also,
2 Timothy 3:12; John 16:2).
It keeps us wondering if we are entering into a new timeline
in the book of Matthew Chapter 24. Are we now going to see more of verse
9 happening to believers? “Then
they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by
all nations because of My name.”
In many parts of the world, persecution, death and martyrdom
has been going on for a long time. But, not as much in the West. Whether Jew or
Gentile -- it is, and will be part of the experience of fighting the good fight of
faith, identifying with the Lord, Himself.
Recently, someone commented about this tragedy of Charlie
Kirk’s death. Why are we so intent on reading and hearing every word about this
man? According to the commentary, this is not just about a man, but about a
battle. Darkness celebrated what the assassin did – shutting up a voice that
loved the Lord. It strikes us at the core.
As we go into the time of the feasts and festivals of Israel,
there has been great repentance at the Western Wall by hundreds of thousands of
Jews. It’s called, “The Slichot Prayers.”
It has been going on for several weeks…
Along with repentance, it is important we remember that, in a time of compromise, we need
conviction. In a time of fear and anxiety, we need courage. In a time of
timidity, we need boldness – to speak truth to a world that is listening and
receiving fake news and lies.
THIS IS A TURNING POINT!
Charlie Kirk had the conviction, the courage, and the
boldness, that went beyond his political standing, and his debate with young students.
It spoke into the heavenlies and on the earth, and into the heart of man, what
is good, and what is the acceptable will of the Lord.
Romans 12:2: “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this
world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you
think. Then, you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and
pleasing and perfect.” (NLT version).
