SEPTEMBER 20, 2020 PRAYER UPDATE

Israel and the Nations

 

This is the 10 Days of Awe when, traditionally, the Jewish People go before the Lord with their sins and ask for personal forgiveness. This leads up to Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. This is the day of national repentance in Israel… the most holy day of the year on the Hebrew calendar.

WHO GOD IS:

Psalm 113:5: “Who is like the LORD our God, the One who sits enthroned on high?”

 

Psalm 47:8: “God reigns over the nations; God is seated on His holy throne.”

 

Psalm 103:19: “The LORD has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all.”

 

Psalm 47:2: “For the LORD Most High is awesome, the great King over all the earth.”

 

OUR APPROACH TOWARDS GOD DURING THE 10 DAYS OF AWE: THANKFUL FOR OUR RESTORATION AND RENEWAL IN YESHUA:

Lamentations 5:21: “Restore us to Yourself, LORD, that we may return; renew our days as of old.”

 

Job 5:17: "Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.”

 

Jeremiah 31:18: "I have surely heard Ephraim's moaning: 'You disciplined me like an unruly calf, and I have been disciplined. Restore me, and I will return, because you are the LORD my God.”

 

Psalm 119:114: “You are my refuge and my shield; Your Word is my source of hope.”

PRAYERS FOR ISRAEL: ITS GOVERNMENT LEADERS; AND THE GLOBAL JEWISH PEOPLE: TURN TO THE LORD AND RECEIVE SALVATION:

Jeremiah 31:7: “This is what the LORD says: ‘Sing with joy for Jacob; shout for the foremost of the nations. Make your praises heard’, and say, 'LORD, save your people, the remnant of Israel.' ”

 

Psalm 14:7: “Oh… that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!”

 

Joel 2:32: “And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the LORD has said, even among the survivors whom the LORD calls.”

 

Psalm 80:3; Psalm 80:7; Psalm 80:19: (Israel’s prayer before God that we can say in identifying with the Lord’s Chosen People): “Restore us, O God; make Your face shine on us, that we may be saved.”

 

Psalm 28:9 (our prayer before God): “Save Your people and bless your inheritance; be their Shepherd and carry them forever.”

OUR PRAYERS REGARDING COVID-19: This is a time of global self-examination, as God is observing us!

Psalm 11:4: “The LORD is in His holy temple; the LORD is on His heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; His eyes examine them.”

 

Philippians 2:14-16: “Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent children of God, above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world; holding fast the Word of life, so that in the day of the Messiah, I will have reason to glory, because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.

 

Regarding the rebellion in the earth that has risen up during this crisis:

Proverbs 16:2: “All a person's ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the LORD.”

 

Proverbs 19:21: “Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.”

 

Psalm 66:7: “He rules forever by His power, His eyes watch the nations; let not the rebellious rise up against Him.”

 

Psalm 37:8: (declare): “Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm.”

The testing of God, through the Body of Messiah, during COVED-19:

Titus 3:1-7: “Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus, our Messiah and Savior. Because of His grace He made us right in His sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.”

 

1 Peter 2:15-17: “For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. Respect everyone, and love the family of believers. Fear God, and respect the king.”

 

God’s protection over Israel:

Numbers 23:23: “No curse can touch Jacob; no magic has any power against Israel. For now it will be said of Jacob, ‘What wonders God has done for Israel!’ ”

 

Prayers for the hospitals in Israel and elsewhere who carry a great burden. Medical personnel are exhausted, some of whom have double duty in regular wards and in Covid wards:

Jeremiah 32:27: "I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?

 

God’s faithful answer to COVID-19:

Jeremiah 32:20: (We remind the Lord): “You performed miraculous signs and wonders in the land of Egypt—things still remembered to this day! And You have continued to do great miracles in Israel and all around the world. You have made Your name famous to this day.”

 

Psalm 50:15 (The Lord’s direct request to His people): “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

 

Luke 21:19: “By your patient endurance you will gain your lives.”

 

PEACE TREATIES – The Abraham Accords:

Matthew 5:9: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

 

Exodus 20:3: (a warning to Israel): "You shall have no other gods before Me.”

 

As relations with Arab countries greatly improve, we are seeing the establishment of direct flights.  Arab leaders and business people are already coming to Israel and communicating with the people. Synagogues are being restored in Arab countries. There are accommodations being made in the Gulf nations to respect the need of Israelis that keep kosher. Arabs are learning Hebrew. There will be Jews learning Arabic in greater numbers. The leaders are already implying that we are all children of Abraham, which we are. However, we do not serve the same God!

 

Pray for our Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and all those in Israel and the U.S. who have been a part of establishing these peace treaties.

 

Jeremiah 3:23: “Our worship of idols on the hills and our religious orgies on the mountains are a delusion. Only in the LORD our God will Israel ever find salvation.”

 

The Israeli president’s job is to embrace all religions and respect all peoples living in Israel. Sometimes, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin celebrates the holidays of the Moslems and Druze peoples. How far is too far to go to show honor and respect for those of different religions? Pray for President Rivlin!

 

PRAY REGARDING THE TWO OBSTACLES IN THESE PEACE TREATIES:

(1)    During the peace ceremony on the White House lawn, the UAE Foreign Minister spoke about “annexation being off the table.” The UAE did not send its Crown Prince bin-Zayid to the ceremony because, reportedly, he was angry with Netanyahu that the “sovereignty” issue was still on the table. The Trump administration has delayed it until 2024. But, it is not off the table. So, the UAE will persist to get it off the table. And, so will other Arab nations.

 

 

(2)    The Bahrain foreign minister declared the mantra of a “two-state solution” for the Palestinians. He said that peace with Israel would mean greater influence for Arab nations to fulfill the Palestinian vision. This is part of Trump’s plan.

 

Pray into these two obstacles that hinder Israel’s ability to gain sovereignty over its God given land; and, the obstacle that pushes Israel into an eventual agreement with the Palestinians that divides the land. Pray that the Lord, Himself, will delay this plan.

 

 

WHERE DOES THIS FIT IN WITH GOD’S PROPHETIC SCRIPTURES?

These are the alliances that are forming with Israel towards the fulfilling of Ezekiel 38:11, and Ezekiel 38:13. This includes the Arabian nations. (Right now, Saudi Arabia has not publicly joined in a peace agreement with Israel, yet, but is allowing Israel to use its airspace). The Emirates and Bahrain have joined Israel in an alliance. More countries are talking about making peace with Israel (Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Sudan).

 

When the unholy alliance of God, Magog, Persia, and others come towards Israel from the north (Russia, Turkey, Iran, etc.), Israel will be living in peace without walls and borders. (Ezekiel 8:11). And, Sheba and Dedan (Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries), along with the merchants of Tarshish (nations from the West), align themselves with Israel at that time. It’s most likely a diplomatic, economic, and military alignment. They speak about the desire of the unholy alliance to invade and plunder Israel from the north (Ezekiel 38:13).

 

But, all this occurs after the great Aliyah of Ezekiel 38:12. This mass of people coming from the nations to re-settle the land has not happened yet in the great numbers expected. (See Ezekiel 36:8-11).

 

Before that mass Aliyah happens we still need to see the fulfillment of Ezekiel 36:1-7. Currently, the peace between Israel and these Gulf Arab states is setting the stage. At some point there will be a division of the land (leading to a Palestinian federation with Jordan). God will be angry that they have taken the high places in the mountains. There will be a devastating war.

 

Then, the Jews return to rebuild that part of the land. And, this prepares the way for the Ezekiel Chapters 38-39 war to take place.

 

What we are seeing today is a visual from the Lord of His re-alignment of Arab Gulf countries as they come towards Israel to make peace.

 

And, we are seeing the stage being set of the countries that will be in an unholy alliance against Israel, as well.

 

What is so interesting is that God has gotten the attention of the world through the plague, and people are more available to watch and observe the stage being set for the fulfillment of biblical prophecy!

 

PRAYER FOR THE PROMISES OF ALIYAH:

 

Jeremiah 31:12: “They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion; they will rejoice in the bounty of the LORD-- the grain, the new wine and the olive oil, the young of the flocks and herds. They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will sorrow no more.”

 

Isaiah 61:9: “Their descendants will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the LORD has blessed."

 

Jeremiah 23:3: "I myself will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number.

 

Jeremiah 20:13: “Sing to the LORD; praise the LORD! For He has delivered the life of the needy from the hand of evildoers.”

 

CONCLUDING PRAYER FOR THE NATION OF ISRAEL:

Deuteronomy 33:29: “Blessed are you, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword. Your enemies will cower before you, and you will tread on their heights."

*ENCOURAGING SCRIPTURES IN ACKNOWLEDGING OUR GOD!

Psalm 100:2-4: “Serve the LORD with gladness; come into His presence with joyful songs. Acknowledge that the LORD is God! He made us, and we are His. We are His people, the sheep of His pasture.”

LORD, we enter Your gates with thanksgiving, Your courts with praise. We give thanks to You and bless Your holy name.”

For, You LORD are good, and Your love endures forever. Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations!

Hebrews 6:19: “This hope we have, as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast, that can neither break nor drag. It passes in behind the veil.”

Psalm 40:8: “I take joy in doing Your will, my God, for Your instructions are written on my heart.”

*PRAYERS FOR THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT:

Some say that this current two-headed Israeli government (Netanyahu/Gantz) has made mistakes when it comes to containing the coronavirus, and at the same time, trying to keep the economy viable. The spikes in the virus, now, are higher than they were in the first wave of COVED-19. But, there are arguments because Israel cannot afford to go back to general lockdowns and shut down the economy.

At the same time, the government has designated “red zones”, and kept mainly ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods in lockdown. The ultra-Orthodox are retaliating, and getting into fights with the police. 

There have been mass demonstrations going on, both on the liberal left side of Israeli society (regarding the economy). And, protests by the ultra-Orthodox who say they are not being treated fairly.

Hearing the frustrations in the society, the two-headed government is trying to find a balance, but the politicians appear to be wishy-washy in their decisions. And, the public is confused.

There are demands for government hand-outs in every sector of society. It is making Israel look like a welfare state. The main point is that there is not clear strong leadership. Government officials have been making promises, especially about the economy, and up until now, have not kept many of those promises. This has caused mistrust and frustration among Israelis.

Also, by 100 days of the operations of this government, there must be an approved budget. Netanyahu wants a short-term budget; Gantz wants a long-term budget. Without a budget, Israel goes to new elections automatically!

We want to share some scripture, declare, and pray through these matters:

According to Jeremiah 10:23: “LORD, I know that our lives are not our own. We are not able to plan our own course.”

But, this nation is Yours, and as Psalm 33:12 says: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; the people He chose for his inheritance.”

According to Proverbs 1:5: “A wise man will hear and increase in learning. And, a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel.”

So, we ask You LORD, to “Instruct a wise man, and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man, and he will increase his learning.” (Proverbs 9:9)

Many are the plans in a person’s heart but it is Your purposes, LORD, that prevail. (Proverbs 19:21).

We really do not know how to pray with our own words, and You Holy Spirit help us in our weakness. For example, we do not know what You want us to pray for in this situation that has caused Israel to be in a state of confusion. But, You Holy Spirit can pray through us, with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. (Romans 8:26). Give us utterances, God, in the Spirit!

*PRAYER FOR HEALTH MINISTER, YULI EDELSTEIN IN THIS WAR ON THE CORONAVIRUS:

Proverbs 24:6: “Surely, you need guidance to wage war, and victory is won through many advisors.”

Your word Lord shows us that only with sound guidance should Israel wage war, and victory lies in a multitude of counselors. We ask that you provide those counselors to Yuli Edelstein; men and women who can help Israel receive accurate and needed information in a timely manner. And, can disseminate that information with clarity and truth to the people of Israel.

For, the scriptures say, that with a lack of guidance, a nation fails, but with many counselors comes deliverance. (Proverbs 11:14; Proverbs 15:22). Please bring Your deliverance to Israel, Lord!

And, thank You that counsel and sound judgement; common sense and success belong to You. You are the One that has all power. You are the One that has insight and strength. Please appropriate this to Israel’s government at this time.

*PRAYER FOR NATIONS IN EUROPE, AND FOR AMERICA IN REGARD TO AN INCREASE IN ANTI-SEMITISM…. BECAUSE THE WORLD DOESN’T UNDERSTAND!

We need to not only be pushing back the plans of the enemy, but also declaring the plans of God for His Chosen People.

Psalm 135:4: “For the LORD has chosen Jacob to be His own; Israel to be His treasured possession.”

Deuteronomy 32:9: “For the LORD’s portion is His people; Jacob is the lot of His inheritance.”

Isaiah 41:8-10: “But, as for you, Israel my servant, Jacob my chosen one, descended from Abraham my friend. I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.’ So, do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Deuteronomy 7:6: “For you are a people holy to the LORD, your God. The LORD, your God has chosen you to be a people for His prized possession, above all peoples on the face of the earth.”

Deuteronomy 10:15: “Yet the LORD has set His affection on your fathers and loved them. And, He has chosen you, their descendants after them, above all the peoples, even to this day.”

Romans 9:4: “They are the people of Israel, chosen to be God’s adopted children. God revealed His divine glory to them. He made covenants with them and gave them His law. He gave them the privilege of worshipping Him, and receiving His wonderful promises.

*DECLARATIONS REGARDING ALIYAH:

According to the Jewish Agency, what was thought to be an increase in Aliyah this year, is actually not going according to the predictions. The first 4 months, because of the coronavirus, immigration to Israel was down by 36%. In April, the percentage decreased to 80%.  From January-April 2020, there were 6,368 Jews that immigrated to Israel. More than 70% of the immigrants came from the former Soviet Union. The overwhelming majority were from Russia. Only 342 came from America; a similar number from France; and 117 from Ethiopia. The rest came from Italy, the U.K., and other countries in Europe. From Latin America, there were 509 who came through April 2020.

Isaac Hertzog, the Chairman of the Jewish Agency, thinks there will be a big wave of Aliyah to Israel once the coronavirus is contained. The Secretary-General of the Jewish Agency told a Knesset committee, recently, that there could be as many as 50,000 new immigrants arriving to Israel in 2021. There has been a great interest from North America, particularly. Israel needs the wealth of the Jews returning to Israel from the nations, to build up the economy, especially those coming from North America.

Declaring scriptures:

Isaiah 60:9: “Surely, the islands look to Me; In the lead are the ships of Tarshish, bringing Your children from afar, with their silver and gold, to the honor of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for He has endowed you with splendor.”

Jeremiah 32:41: “Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land, assuredly, with my whole heart and with my whole soul.”

Jeremiah 31:9-11: “They will come with weeping, and by their supplication I will lead them; I will make them walk beside streams of waters, on a level path where they will not stumble. For I am Israel’s Father, (“ki-ani-avi-yisrael”), and Ephraim is My firstborn (“v-ephraim- who-bicori”). Hear the word of the LORD, you nations; proclaim it in distant coastlands: ‘He who scattered Israel will gather them and will watch over His flock like a shepherd.’ For the LORD has ransomed Jacob and redeemed him from the hand that had overpowered him.”

Ezekiel 34:12: “As a shepherd looks for his scattered sheep when he is among the flock, so I will look for My flock. I will rescue them from all the places to which they have been scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.”

Ezekiel 36:28: “Then, you will live in the land that I gave your forefathers; you will be My people, and I will be your God.”

Zechariah 9:16: “On that day, the LORD their God will save them as the flock of His people; for like jewels in a crown, they will sparkle over His land… (Another translation): On that day, the LORD their God will rescue His people, just as a shepherd rescues his sheep. They will sparkle in His land like jewels in a crown.”

Zechariah 10:6: “I will strengthen the house of Judah and deliver the house of Joseph. I will restore them because I have compassion on them, and they will be as though I had not rejected them. For I am the LORD their God, and I will answer them.”

Jeremiah 23:3: “I myself will gather the remnant of My flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number.”

Isaiah 57:14: “And, it will be said: ‘Build up, build up, prepare the road! Remove the obstacles out of the way of My people.”

A LOVE SCRIPTURE – GOD TO ISRAEL:

Ezekiel 37:27: “My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be My people. Then, the nations will know that I the LORD sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary is among them forever.”
