Jerusalem, Israel
JANUARY 2015 PRAYER UPDATE
Israel and
the Nations
(1) Campaigning
is underway for new elections which are taking place on March 17. Many
government agencies are on stand-by until the elections are over. Meanwhile,
God has been exposing major corruption; bribery; misuse of funds; abuse; and
other misdeeds on the part of public figures The list includes politicians;
mayors of cities and towns in Israel; directors of non-profit organizations,
lobbyists, and members of Israel’s police force. The Lord is cleaning up the
House of Israel! He is purifying His
people and rooting out evil. Political
parties and leaders who have not been honest and have not walked in integrity
are being indicted for crimes. Pray that
the Lord will continue to expose the greed that has taken place in Israeli
society among those who have power and influence. (See: 1 Samuel 8:3; Psalm 26:9-10; Proverbs
17:23; Amos 5:12; 1 Timothy 6:10).
(2) Thank God for Bayit Yehudi leader Naftali
Bennett who was confronted recently for not supporting a Palestinian State. He
took a Bible off his shelf and stated: “Public opinion isn’t my compass, the Torah
is my compass. For 3,000 years the Land of Israel has belonged to the Jewish
People.” Praise the Lord for this
religious politician who respects the Word of God and is holding on to His
promises regarding the Covenant Land. Diplomats are coming from all over to
meet Bennett. Pray that the Lord continues to strengthen his backbone to lift
up HIS standard in the Jewish homeland! Declare Proverbs 18:16 over Bennett’s
life!
(3) There has
been an increase in suicides among IDF soldiers in Israel. The IDF Personnel
Directorate reported that 105 soldiers died in 2014 during their military
service. Pray that army leaders are able
to reach out, effectively, to field commanders. Intercede for the Lord to put
believers in key places to encourage those who are depressed and needy
(according to Isaiah 61:1-3). Pray that the Lord will give discernment to the
Body of Messiah to care for those soldiers that have psychological needs,
especially those suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
(4)
Reportedly, ISIS now has terror cells on the
Lebanese-Syrian border, as well as in Jordan and Gaza. Three men in Hebron were
indicted recently as members of ISIS, as they were planning terror attacks against
the Jewish State. Israel is now dealing with an uptick in radical Islamic
operations in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria), and has been able to thwart
the violent plans of several terror groups. Ask the Lord to stop the enemy from forming a wall of fire around
Israel. Pray that all attempts by ISIS to infiltrate Israel will be
unsuccessful and that God would be a canopy of love and a double blessing of
protection over His Holy Land. (Psalm 121:7; Psalm 32:7).
(5) During this time when Israel is vulnerable to
military and diplomatic attacks, pray that the Lord will watch over His beloved
nation with great earnest. According to Zechariah 2:8, thank Him that Israel is
the Apple of His Eye. Pray that every attempt by the Palestinians to bring
Israel to the International Court and charge the IDF and the government with
war crimes will be thwarted in Yeshua’s name. Also, intercede before the Lord
that every attempt by Hamas to try and form a unified Palestinian military
resistance front against Israel will be disrupted and nullified by the Lord.
Ask God to expose and stop the plans of Hamas to re-build Gaza terror
tunnels. (See Proverbs 12:21).
(6) There are
reports that strategic sites in Israel remain unprotected including critical
infrastructure. In case of a missile attack against the Jewish State, these
sites are open to danger. Though there have been warnings since 2004, nothing
is being done to strengthen and guard these critical areas. Pray for God to put an extra hedge of
security around Israel and not allow any infiltration by the enemy that could
disrupt life in this nation. (Psalm 41:2; Psalm 91:10).
(7)
There have been reports and statistics on
demographics and poverty in Israel that some experts have stated are
inaccurate. Pray for accuracy and truth
in reporting by all sectors of Israeli and Palestinian society. Pray that no
one would be able to use statistics for political gain in Jesus name!
(8) PRAISE REPORT:
Israel received record-breaking Aliyah in 2014! Overall, immigration increased by 32%! Thank
God that His people are coming home! (Genesis 28:15).
PSALM
68:1: “…Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered. And let those who hate Him flee before Him.”
PSALM
48:10: “Like your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth;
Your right hand is filled with righteousness.”
